Great solution to those windows. I've got the same Korber kit (with the extension, as well. Found the extension at the ECLSTS this past March). Mine's been in the box waiting to be assembled for five years, now. Some day I'll find time to assemble it. It's good to know that there will be a better set of windows possible when I do. -Kevin.

I cut plastic on my table saw regularly. The trick is to use a blade with as many teeth as possible. Plywood blades work well. Of course, using a blade on plastic will make it much less effective on plywood. I always keep my plastic cutting plywood blades separate from my plywood cutting plywood blades. Your mileage may vary. -Kevin.

Cedar is an excellent wood for outdoors. It doesn't need any special weather proofing, but it will turn grey after a season outdoors. You could stain it every season or two if you want some color in it. Or you could make a metal bridge out of aluminum screen framing material. I made one a few years ago. I'm definitely not much of a metal worker, but this was pretty easy to do. I'm not sure what it is worth. A complete (with power adaptor) unit would be better. Hard to tell if it works or not without the power adaptor. You could check eBay pricing but their prices can sometimes be a bit..... unrealistic? You might also check here http://marketplace.collector-modeltrains.com for prices. -Kevin.
