  1. Thank you! I wasn't sure if there would be any signal problems. I'm glad to know that isn't a concern. KC
  2. I like it! Did you make the revised smoke box door yourself? KC
  3. Before getting to my question, please be aware that I can follow simple instructions to assemble electronics but I don't know how to read a schematic. Now would be a good time to learn, but I'm afraid I have so much going on, I think I will be better off purchasing off-the-shelf products, if they are available. I hope to figure out what the best approach is through what I learn. I am using DCS and am researching the best options for setting up a double reverse loop on a dog bone pattern layout. I would like it to be automated so I can lay a train or two down (appropriately spaced apart) and let them do their thing. Would the required circuitry cause any issues with DCS ? Any sharing of experience and tips would be greatly appreciated. KC
  4. The risk level varies with the item offered and the duration of the auction. This practice can actually stimulate bidding. KC
  5. Go, Daylight! Looks great. Did you add the curtains to your observation car or did it come that way? KC
  6. I want to give credit where credit is due. I discovered the world of MTH One Gauge back in October when I purchased a vintage Daylight set. Having not been involved with my old train hobby for decades, I had a lot to learn. I have found the Ray’s Electric Trainworks website to be a fantastic resource for information, products, parts and tips. More importantly, I have been very impressed with Raymond's excellent and honest communications, his knowledge and professionalism. I recently asked him to upgrade my locomotive to PS3 and at the same time I wanted to support his efforts and had him perform all of the modifications listed on his website. I now have a locomotive and tender that is better than it was when it was brand new, which is just what I wanted. I heartily recommend Raymond and his services to anyone without reserve. KC
  7. MTH is what has gotten me back into trains. Them and Raymond, The MTH King. When I got into G scale in the early 80s, I longed for American models and assumed that they would be done in 1:32. I put my trains away at the time that the first 19th century steam models were coming out and missed the whole American revolution, until now. Everything I am interested in has probably come out within the past 15 years. My only real complaint about MTH is that I can't buy what I want, when I want. This is actually a good thing though. Otherwise, my bank account would be short many thousands of dollars! Once again, I love your layout. You and your wife have put together something special. KC
  8. Wow! Your railroad is big enough to have a website and a "web guy". I loved reading the page and the great pics of your equipment and layout. KC
  9. Very nice! Are you matching your colors to the originals, or just winging it? SP Daylight had a variety of colors and fabrics in their various coaches too. I hadn't thought of printing seat covers. 'Can't wait to see how that well it works. KC
  10. Yes, this is one of the things I want to upgrade on mine. KC
  11. Nice UP too. My guess on the number is, "5419". KC
  12. Very nice work! This is one of the reasons for my needing more cars. If I build a chair-baggage car, I may opt to extend it, also. KC
  13. Great score on a great engine! KC
  14. Thanks for the Tru-Color recommendation. Also, you're lucky to have the new run of cars as an option. I've locked myself into the ribbed sides, so I don't have much in the way of choices. KC
