  1. Well folks I guess no one knows about these things but for the record I set it up in my driveway on the 80' of track and everything worked fine...... I guess I still need suggestions on what kind of setup to go with once the holidays are over just need some guidance on what would be best and options for expansion in the future....
  2. Just a short back log of info. My experience level is rookie at best. I had an O scale train when I was like 13 and I'm 49 now. I've always had an interest but seemed very low on my priority list. My list of other hobbies is a mile long..... My wife of 8 months and I were talking about how we were going to decorate for our first official Christmas and she pulled a box out of storage of a New Bright G scale Holiday Express 385, I think I found maybe one picture of this model on Google... Her idea was to put it around the tree and I taking things in to consideration for the conditions with several families, furniture, huge tree and lots of Christmas gifts (this is her favorite holiday) suggested that I put it on the wall above the doorways in our 22' x17' living room and she agreed. We are 4 days in after our initial conversation about this and I've found and ordered the additional track I need to make this happen. My wife ask how I would cover the holes in the walls after Christmas and I suggested we get another train to put on the track for the rest of the year and again she agreed. With that being said my research leads me to believe that apparently this New Bright train is lower end. I have a couple of initial questions and maybe more as I get more involved with this project. 1. I am going from 15'-20' of track to approximately 80' of track and this has a 5000ma 10v 110 power supply is this enough given the additional track or do I need to upgrade power supplies and what would be recommended? 2. Is this New Bright track quality enough track and compatible with other brand trains. 3. How does this thing communicate with the wired controller to know when I push the horn button or speed up and slow down/ reverse with only a 2 wire connection from the controller? 4. Will I loose any functionality with a different power supply? I am sure more questions will arise as I progress. Thanks in advance for any assistance and info you maybe able to provide, Tim
