  1. My dad and I were looking at making a new train layout and we were joking about having a scale model of a scale model, so I decided to look into it. I went through the ratios of the different scale model types (or at least the normal ones) and it turns out you can actually make a scale model of a scale model. The math is fairly simple too. A G scale train is has a variety of ratios but for this I'll stick with 1:22.5, T scale also has a couple different sizes but I'll stick with 1:480. The simple math? 480/22.5=21.33, this means that a T scale train is roughly the G scale ratio of a G scale train. I'm not sure if this is old news to most people just I though it was a cool little thing to notice. My dad and I are thinking about making a small T scale track in our G scale track and label it "World's largest outdoor G scale train layout" just as a little joke.
