  1. I have a bunch of Proto 2 locomotives, and am finally ready to go DCC. All of the DCC systems that I am looking at are Proto 3. Will I be able to control my old proto 2 locomotives with a Proto 3 controller? I really don't want to go back and swap out cards from my old locos. I'd appreciate any input that you can provide.
  2. I've never installed sound on any of my locomotives before. I think that I'm ready to try it my own, but am a little nervous. I have a few questions about this endeavor: Should I install DCC while I am installing sound? Does anybody have any recommendations or advice about the sound and dcc units that I should purchase? What are the pitfalls that I will run up against during the installations, and how can I avoid them? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and regards, Bill
  3. Although I bought my PIKO "Blue Comet" camelback last year, I just got around to running it this week. Much to my disappointment, the factory installed sound did not work. I called PIKO and they helped me troubleshoot my Camelback's sound. With their assistance, I found a loose wire, which was a simple ten minute fix. I know that most of you probably could have fixed it in your sleep, but, as you probably can tell I'm kind of a nubee to Sound and DCC troubleshooting. I just wanted to let everybody know that I was very happy with Piko's service and would recommend them to anyone. Regards, Bill
  4. Thank you both. You are right, it is a USA train. I will check out Charles Ro. Thanks again for the advice and regards,
  5. I am restoring an old Aristocraft # 22127, NY Central GP9. I need many parts, and am hoping to buy a broken or non-working (and relatively inexpensive) locomotive. I don't think that the road name matters. If you have one, and want to part with it, please give me a shout.
  6. Does anybody know which G scale manufacturers make a switch track that matches the specifications for LGB 18050 (R5) and LGB 18150(R5)? I'd appreciate any information that you can share with me.
