DaveNS
I work for Norfolk Southern and my dad, who spent 38 years with the L&N and CSX, gave me the idea to build a gscale engine with the numbers of the first engine I ever ran on. I wonder if anybody sold an unpowered GE engine kit I could build and paint myself.
enginear joe
Not 100% sure of what you are requesting exactly. MTH has released some dummy in-powered Dash 8 models, some painted for NS. They are ready to run though. I'm not familiar with anyone making any kits for modern GE engines. There are some new guys selling 3D printed stuff with varying levels of completeness. I guess you could qualify some as kits. I don't believe there's any GE's? Maybe I missed it though? I build scratch engines for myself and if you want to get ideas, maybe you could look thru the kit bashing posts here on the forum. Others here are and have built models as well. You could contact the guys making 3D models and see if they'll make whatever model you're after exactly. Mark Dashnaw maybe? here's a listing of his: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-29th-Scale-Intermodal-Spine-long-/112244261780?hash=item1a22478394:g:8QMAAOSwezVWw8iA all of them here maybe? http://www.ebay.com/sch/markdash1234/m.html?item=112243513487&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
enginear joe
Ok hello? What is the engine model and exact road number?
DaveNS
Thanks. I'll look in my signal log for the engine number and get back with you. I just want a display model. So an unpowered undetailed unit. I believe dash 9 23006 GE
enginear joe
Aristo made the only dash 9 in g scale. They are getting rare but they are around still.
