rbrown7713
I forgot to tell you, the loco weighs 11 lbs., glad I add the batteries or it would have weighed little over seven. Bob.
rbrown7713
Thanks Joe, I am almost done. I painted the stripes on the tender today and they came out good. I used a tool that I made, a holder for the Beaugler pinstriping tool. I mounted it in the spindel and then cranked the table for a straight line. I used before for the stretched MTH passenger car and this time got a little better, and will use it in the future for stripes on some cars that I make in the future. Here is a video and then some pictures of the striped tender, and next the dry transfer letters. Bob.
enginear joe
I found a video that maybe of interest for your next build? Maybe not.
rbrown7713
They are beautiful and I could have had one, if I had started at 20. Bob.
rbrown7713
These are Woodland Scenics letters and worked very well, easy to install. Can't find a decent PRR logo to go on this tender. Anyone have a source? Bob.
enginear joe
Someone here might be able to help you. I was wondering if just maybe USA Trains might have one for their GG1 that you could get? http://www.usatrains.com/usatrainspartsmenu.html They only list a parts number to call. When I've ordered parts from them, they were helpful to me in getting what I needed.
rbrown7713
Hey Joe, here's one that you might want to build in your spare time. Bob.
rbrown7713
Thanks Joe, I will try them, but usually they are pad printed and not decals, I think, but I will try. Bob.
enginear joe
I really did not think of that! Sorry.
Screwy Nick
Check out Stan Cedarleaf, scedarleaf@aol.com he prints custome decals. He will send you actual pics so you can decide the size or what ever you want done. And his work is excellent.

enginear joe
if I remember correctly, that GP Chessie doesn't run? It was just a static model?
rbrown7713
I don't think that he would make a static model that size, but I could be wrong. Bob.
rbrown7713
you are right, no motors. Bob.
enginear joe
I'd rather be wrong about it! It's beautiful and is partially a shame that it doesn't run. With all that work, it would make one heck of a showpiece running at a club.
Sean
I second Stan's work : http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/StanCedarleaf/WebPageDecals/CustomDecalsx.html
rbrown7713
Thanks, I ordered some PRR logos and they are on the way, Bob.
Screwy Nick
Bob, if you don't like what he sends you, just tell him how to amend them and he will, he is a great person to work with.
rbrown7713
Thank you, but according to the proofs, they will do the job, and thanks for all of the help, and I am glad this project is coming to a close, now for the outside layout, which I started on today and am not going to start another car or loco until the outside is done. Bob.

rbrown7713
I am trying to construct the diaphragm between the loco and the tender, but so far this will be for static display and on straight track. I am trying to get a functioning insert to function while under power, no success yet, Bob.
