enginear joe
got her test run on video. She's pulling pretty good. There's a lot more work to do. It's taking me a very long time.
enginear joe
I'm slowly moving ahead! I still have to scratch build the front steps, then mount the front coupler permanently. They are more vertical than the rear. At least I have one proto-coupler hooked up to drop off cars. It is a switcher after all!!
DualRailTrail
Thats some amazing skill. Great work.
enginear joe
Well.... I got the electric couplers mounted and the pilots. The steps need some big work and all the rest of the finer detailing. I 'll probably just run her for a bit to see how she holds up. Ahhh. I couldn't stand the look of the steps. So 8:00pm and I'm back at it.

enginear joe
I'm working on the front step area. I have no real patience this deserves. I also have to fight my physical limitations. Some days I can't do anything. So when I get the desire, I have at it. Sometimes it's just a small piece. Sometimes I get a great deal accomplished. I guess the only way for me is to do it this way. There is some pride with seeing something you have built, at work on your RR. For what it's worth, I'd rather buy it RTR!!
rbrown7713
Well engineer joe, I didn't know that you scratch built, nice work. Why didn't you say anything. I was so busy doing my thing that I didn't know. Very nice work. Bob.
rbrown7713
Nice work, I didn't know that you were a scratch builder, I guess I should get out of my shop and look around a little more, very, very nice work. Bob.

Sean
Looking real sharp there Joe! How close is it to being done? I would love to see some pics out side working!
enginear joe
I abandoned all modeling to work on the layout. She's sitting there with her sister (SD70ACe). I will get them outside and take some more photos. Thanks for all the compliments. It's rewarding building from scratch. There are too many times I pull my hair out. enginear joe
There won't be a video today. I have a million Maple tree seed falling all over the tracks. Yuck.
enginear joe
Well she got relegated to track detail. The maintenance crew wants a raise. After spending all day cleaning, the track is full of seeds again.
Jerry B44
Looks good. Our ash trees put out a millon seeds last fall and they all germinated in the railroad. So what a job! Did use Preen earlier, but did not seem to stop them. jerry
enginear joe
Yeap. I know what you mean. You should see the track today! All full of seeds again. I'll have to wait the two weeks or so until they finish, or just ignore them and hope they don't gum up the wheels!
