enginear joe
here's some for comparison. The CSX is scratch built.
Chuck
The one you built looks pretty good! That NYC version looks really great! Here's my collection and I have one more that'll be here on 12/
enginear joe
Thanks Wow. Very nice line up! I should have grabbed that same EMD scheme from Ray. I was proud of the one I built but now it's just in the shadow! I never put the railings on her or the correct steps yet. I have so many scratch builds at 80% done it's ridiculous. Looks like you're right on with dimensions and everything! Yeah that final 10-20% of detailing takes like 90% of the time.
enginear joe
Yep Pretty sure that MTH used my model for their dimensions!
Chuck
Here's my entire SD70 fleet!
BrianUPheritage
The SD70 fleet looks great! I have bunch of the USA trains SD70, always nice running a pair at a time. Brain
enginear joe
I think it would be great if MTH released a SD70ACE (SD70M-2) painted for NYSW. They announced it in the Dash 8 and never made it as far as I know. 70-2030-1 | MTH ELECTRIC TRAINS (mthtrains.com)
enginear joe
Didn't anyone here get the D&RG version? I don't see any posts of one. 70-2138-1 | MTH ELECTRIC TRAINS (mthtrains.com)

Chuck
Joe...Very nice! Those USAT hoppers are bringing $300+ each these days. I'm jealous as you have a nice layout(s) while all my trains are stashed away in a big storage unit...

Chuck
Nice! I figured that you'd be buying more
enginear joe
Yes, I'd like to own all the versions! It's a well-built engine. Great details. I'd like to make some new ground like housings and put tiny LEDs inside (porch lights too?). Maybe paint flat black the rubber suspension on the side frames of the trucks and some other detailing. I think the air hoses should have been made flexible. I think these are heavier than the Dash 8 models. Having different drives, it would be fun to do a pull test. Chuck
I agree about being well built and highly detailed! The extra lights would be a very nice modification! I'd like to have the Christmas version that Sidetrack has but don't really wanna spend $800 for another loco. I have enough MTH on pre-order from Ray!
