Chuck
Over the years I've had numerous USA Trains passenger cars in various liveries and sold them all off. So I'm buying again building up a Union Pacific train. Charles Ro Supply was out of stock on the UP's observation car but just last week with the FEF arrival the UP car was restocked. Anyway the new observation cars have the flat ends. Now that I have one I do like it. Car has Led lighting which is a big improvement as the old incandescent lighted cars were power hogs...I mean bigtime power hogs. I have an old video showing my four USA PA's with sound and smoke on pulling 7 USA passengers cars and my Bridgewerks MAG25TDR showing a 12 amp load. Most of that load was the car lights. Here's the car...
Chuck
I had to open it up as bunch of the passenger figures were knocked loose out of their seats. Nice thing is this car came apart with the greatest of ease...no hot glue holding the vestibule on. Just loosen a few screws and bottom slid right out. Here's after re-gluing passengers back into seats and I added more. The glue the factory used is nasty as it's still in a semi-fluid state to where some of the figures are sticky...yuk! Here's the Led lighting board... Found 2 more passengers stuck in the vestibule! These cars just beg for more detailing like stripping floor of seats & tables then carpeting, adding seat covers and dining table stuff like Jerr Barnes did with his diner car. Screwy Nick
Glad yours came apart easily. When I modified mine I had to use a rubber mallet to coax the floor board to slide out of the shell. I guess they made some changes since I got mine.
Chuck
I agree as a year or so ago I had a RPO that I repainted. Removing the floor from that little bastard was very tough! I had to hammer it out too! After it was apart could see where manufacturer oiled the car inside and floor so it would "slide" together.
