Rayman4449
That Big Boy looks fresh out the box new One of the things I did (and I think I got the idea from Chuck) was to take and file down the flag off the post, paint it black and give it the same look as the posts on the challenger version. (which I think included filing it down some to reduce the height but dont recall.) I originally just removed the green flags but went back and added them but modified. Really like the new look with the posts added back. Great pictures, keep them coming
Rayman4449
Very interesting to see the auto train pics. I took the train to DC a year ago and really enjoyed it.

Jim Miller
Two more, PRR SD-45's. Real plain paint scheme but they look like they came to work...................Jim
Rayman4449
Have to share this recent acquisition... Had the extreme good fortune to get my hands on this custom KCS dash-9. I never purchased the factory painted version of this engine because the red was so pink. At any rate, the color matching on this engine was spot on and detail superbly done. It's a one of a kind so there were no others done by this person that I'm aware of. For reference, this is a photo of the factory version: Great looking engine in this paint scheme. Jerry B44
I thought I'd post some of my buiilds here. First up is a Shark I made from the kit Rob Fern put out in the UK. It runs ona a Aristo FA chassis. I've made engines in the past and thought getting the body would make it easier, but alas, seems not! The silver D&H cars I got at a restaurant auction. They were made of wood as decorations by a skilled model maker. Even had wood wheels. I used some Great Trains passenger trucks on them and Stan did the decals. I made UP 844 from a Pacific a couple of years ago. Got some Boxpox wheel castings from Bob Thon(Robert's Lines). It's using a centipede tender I made for my Challenger I made a few years back. It is two Pacifics, front drive does pivot.

Jim Miller
Ray, have not done any running outdoors this year. Chompin at the bit to go. Have the piles of wet leaves cleared so it wont take long for first run, maybe an hour. ........Jim

enginear joe
Well then, this is turning out great. Thanks for the site. Looks like I'll be the last to get outside again this year. Weather was starting to get nice and someone said the S word!! The yard's getting mushy again with the heavy rain. I really should have made a blog page of some conversions. I get excited to get them running, like a kid. Looks like they'll stay inside for a bit longer. I saw the Aristo European models coming out and skipped them. I wasn't sure how'd they look next to my American moderns. They do look great. I need to focus because I can't get everything. These posts help fill the need!! I'm waiting to see an Allegheny. Someone's got to have it. I should have saved or held out for one. I got diesel fever. Just rambling......waiting for the delivery truck......
