enginear joe
I was searching for a post about how he made the rooftop beacon on his -8. I found the video on utube under spur1. I can't find his post here and I maybe looking in the wrong places? I had it bookmarked until my computer crashed.

Jerry B44
I got some lights from Evan Designs. Can get them already wired for fwd.backwards power. Lots of sizes/colors/voltages. I got a flashing one for my cop car, it goes red/blue. http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com
Dash 8
Hello, I'm still alive. You need a DC / DC converter to 6 volts, or a LM317 adj. And a 4 channel Running light, mine has 6 volts. The lamp housing I have already shown. Thanks for watching 167833-an-01-en-STEP_DOWN_KONVERTER_1A_W78_ADJ.pdf 191523-an-01-de-SMD_Baustein_4Kanal_Lauflicht.pdf
enginear joe
Thank you again. I'm happier that you are still here. I found an 8 channel one from miniatronics that I want to try. I remember the Swedge lock ring but I can't find a vial. I need to try the name again at the drug store.
Dash 8
I understand, the same components are a problem. I also have a beacon built with “Gyrolok “ fitting 10 mm in brass for the GP. For the glass a few pictures. Regards and Thanks for watching
enginear joe
Looks even better than I remember. Thank you again. Beats the heck out of those engines with just a LED sticking thru the roof.
SteamPower4ever
Took me a while, but I've tracked down who made the beacons I saw a while back at a show here in Denmark. The install was made by a guy at togteknik.dk who got the parts from schmidt-teknik-hobby.dk This video here is H0 which of course is 1:87, but the rotary beacons look mighty convincing. I've seen them with four and five LEDs.

On that YouTube channel there's a lot of example videos including "Tamiya scale" beacons. Whatever that scale is. Tamiya is doing various large scales.
