December 20, 2025Dec 20 I could only guess here. Maybe engines already ordered by the dealer, have the old price and any new ones have to pay the "new" price?Maybe the dealer thinks this will be "rare" and is worth extra money?I know you remember the blow out price for the Triplex vs. what they are asking right now. They aren't readily available but come on!
December 24, 2025Dec 24 Author You bet I remember those Triplex's blowout prices! I also remember St. Aubin selling the Aristo Dash-9 for $180...Now Trainworld is at $1050...wow! All in all it's been a good year with MTH as I got those new F3's, a bunch of flatcars and now these Es4400's...not bad for a company that is going "out of business"!
December 26, 2025Dec 26 Author I picked this one up on 12/24 😀Now we even get ribbons...though they cut them way too short!
February 19Feb 19 I used straight DC on the first video. I lowered the camera, turned off the overhead spotlight, and used AC power on this video.
February 20Feb 20 Author Thanks Joe as I wanted to see the charge lights in use! All my stuff to even test these engines are packed away in a van that I have that's parked in a storage unit.Your scratchbuilt engine looks pretty good parked next to it!
February 20Feb 20 Thanks. My outside layout is torn up for winter and all my stuff is packed up and laying on the inside layout. It didn't fit in the truck bound for auction!
February 21Feb 21 Author Wow, yeah I can understand the reasoning behind selling it all as I contemplate the same but then I know that if I do I'll never have the same collection ever again...so I keep and buy more.
February 22Feb 22 I couldn't buy any more stuff as there was no room. The outside layout stuff is not in the picture and that's not even all the inside stuff. Even I realized, I had too much. Stuff just sat there and never got used. Some never came out of their box. I like it all. So, picking what to keep was impossible. I decided to see what sells and will play with whatever does not. I'll have to buy it back! Urrggg!
February 23Feb 23 Author Didn't help that you have at least 2 scales that you were modeling in! 20+ years ago my goal was to have 100 locomotives, 1,000 pieces of rolling stock and 10,000' of track. I was doing good until 2009 as I was operating crane setting pre-cast concrete panels in the building trades. All that work came to a halt...for a few years. Selling trains became my income. Construction is that way, feast or famine.
