I believe Mike and others are beginning to drop the ball... I have a 1:29 3D printed EMD 1500 and have dropped the plans to 1:32 and printed it out.
I am going to use the VO-1000 chassis to power. With better 3D printers becoming available there will be less finishing work and your RR is only limited
rbrown, my Subway sandwich arrived! I thank you, will be installing as soon as I get the tomatoes and sweet peppers planted... the front porch & deck washed... looks like rain soon here in NEPA; that will pave the way for an indoor project.
Ray, I am the one that contacted you by eMail for a motor' you did respond "none in stock"; I also mentioned a 'motor' to MTH staff on Wednesday before the opening Thursday York TCA. Head parts guy I believe, but they were wheeling in material for setup. E'mailed MTH thru the website -- "NO" reply, as of this date. So it is a "NO" saw-wa-dee-cop to Mike... Good morning (day) to Mike in Thai language...
Now if anyone has Santa Fe Warbonnet cabs to swap...
*also, Ray when power is applied to the engine, the 'rear truck' begins spinning -- frnt is dead; when I applied finger pressure to spin the exposed gear, it will begin to operate like it should. All speeds, both directions, however, when I slow to a stop--it will not spin either direction-until finger push.
Seeing this picture reminded me of when Steamtown was relocating from Bellows Falls Vermont to Scranton Pennsylvania USA and a couple of us volunteers from the local chapter of the Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley NRHS drove up to Vermont in a snowstorm in 2 rental trucks to pickup wheelsets for the Canadian Pacific 2317; ended up sleeping on tables in the depot in the cold--could not get the wheelsets in the trucks with the small forklift and ended up filling both trucks with odds and ends and returning to Scranton! Bummer....
A project initiated by the "Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Chapter of the NRHS" at the NPS Steamtown NHS hopes for completion in 2017. Supported by a great group of volunteers with commitment! Always nice to see the efforts around our country for 'not only preservation, but the "return to service" objectives.'
The SW is a modified USAT with MTH Protosound 2; the 1st car is MTH 1:32, 2nd MDC etc., the PP&L are 1:29 ARISTO 100 Ton hoppers. Followed by 3 2-by ARISTO hoppers and a 1:29 ARISTO brass caboose.
I've been a MTH for a long, long time... many criticized the 1:32 for quite awhile. Where else can you get a whole package: DCS--total control, sound, smoke, lights etc. in the unit!
My roster is varied and I can run the Bachmann oldies, 1:29 GP units, or 1:32.
Dash 8's coming in.
