  1. Chuck, Joe

I only ordered the Veterans and 1st responder Dash 8's and  it appears it still shows on MTH DEC.

So I'm crossing my fingers they will be the first ones crossing the blue water .

Hopefully with the American Freedom Engine. lol.:Wink_Emoji_large(24x24):

Yea that is pushing my luck.:Slightly_Smiling_Face_Emoji(24x24):it currently don't look to good.:Confused_Face_Emoji_large(24x24):

PS Joe in reference to LED lights the only information on the details is :

    Operating Overhead Interior Lighting

Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to open up the 5 new American Freedom Cars and see?????

  2. I have relied on Ray’s knowledge many  times in a short period of time. I’m new in G and he has been significantly important in many of my decisions with a new “Train in the yard Project”.

He has  been reliable in supplying me with ordered parts and products on a timely basis.

I  appreciate his help. He has always been there helping me on the many back and forth e mails

I have sent him asking all kind of questions.

His web site is a must read for any new individuals getting into G.

    Thanks much Ray.:Thumbs_Up_Hand_Sign_Emoji_large(24x24):

Looking forward to getting my Freedom Engine from Ray whenever it gets in. He's going to do the smoke and sound upgrades for me. I have a lot to learn with MTH DCS yet, So I'm not attempting any fooling around with it.:Wink_Emoji_large(24x24):

Already received the 5 passenger cars. I personally think MTH did a great job on the cars.

1st, thanks for sending me my first 4 Freedom cars. Sure hope the engine gets here somewhere close to its schedule shipment.:Slightly_Smiling_Face_Emoji(24x24):

I was under the impression that the RailKing One Gauge catalog has only been coming out every other year. Is that accurate?

Seems like MTH is doing a good job on shipping items from this last (2017) catalog anyway.

Once I got into checking all the sliders it was obvious that most of them had problems with being level and some bent way to much left and right.

I straightened them the best I could . I also made the plastic inserts as you suggested John just in case that didn't fix the problem.:Thinking_Face_Emoji_large(24x24):

I put the engine back on the track and did not have a single issue with it on any of the 4 switches.  I even ran it through the switches both ways.

SO the Rock Creek RR is ok with the Triplex.:Wink_Emoji_large(24x24):

I'll keep the plastic inserts available if needed.

Once again thanks for the help guys.

    Larry

  6. I sure appreciate your information John.

This is the 1st Engine I put on the lay out.

I was getting worried being brand new in this scale. I have been accumulating  engines and leaning very mush to MTH DCS. I was concerned my Hudson, Big Boy and several others I have on order others would be doing the same thing the Triplex was.:Flushed_Face_Emoji_large(24x24)::OMG_Face_Emoji_large(24x24):

I worked yesterday several hour fooling around with  Rays suggestions. I have not tried to run it yet. (RAIN):Very_sad_emoji_icon_png_large(24x24):

I have plenty of scrap Plexiglas laying around and can easily copy your idea.

    Once again Thanks much.

  7. Ray

I have the Triplex Virginian and was running it yesterday learning. It's new and a 1st time run. It did very well until I had a switch issue .:Very_sad_emoji_icon_png_large(24x24):

I think????:Thinking_Face_Emoji_large(24x24): it's the sliders that you refer to on this engine but before I fool with it I want to get more advice  please.

The engine at fast speed went through the switch but the amp meter peg and to me indicated a dead short, and the engine jumped.

At  a slow speed the engine stopped.:Very_sad_emoji_icon_png_large(24x24):

This occurred at all 4 R-5 LGB switches..

Soooo I put black electrical tape on (see picture) and all was well for about 4 laps. Then the tape was ripped or scared ( see pictures)and it started stopping again.

What do you think? Take the sliders off and start bending until I get it right?:Flushed_Face_Emoji_large(24x24):

    Thanks much for any help

    Hi everyone.

Took a while off from Train in the Yard project.

Getting in too much of a hurry and making too many mistakes. :OMG_Face_Emoji_large(24x24):

Needed to back off and remember it’s supposed to be fun. Lol

Back at it hard this past week and I have finished the track wiring and installed all the landscaping lights as well. The track has been tested and all is well .

I will start testing the DCS Remote system with WiFi in the near future.

Currently, just having some fun running a train or two the old fashion Way .lol

Here are some pictures trying to show the plan for the track layout. It worked well for the small area I was working with. I did get to stay with R-5 on the outer and had to use some R-3 on the inner.

The portable console picture shows how 3 pair of color coded wires connects everything to the weather proofed Hard Wired console. That enables me to protect all the electronics. I also have covers for both the consoles just to add some more protection.

So far so good. Hopefully all the remote stuff will work well when I start learning with it.

The learning on the fly continues.:Thinking_Face_Emoji_large(24x24):

The last pictures is one of my test engines.

It was Train World . Then I had to hunt the B unit and found it at Sidetracks Hobby. Have all 3 now and they are very good looking engines. Trying to save my toy money for York next month but been eyeing this set for a while so I took it.

    Stop, yea me to.:Money_Face_Emoji(24x24):

    Larry

  10. Just received this one and the B unit is in the mail as well.

Couldn't help it with the sale price I thought was great anyway.,:Money_Face_Emoji(24x24):

I wanted and been stalking the NS F-7    70-2103-1  for  a while so it was appropriate. :Slightly_Smiling_Face_Emoji(24x24):

I can't wait to run some of my PS2 and PS3 trains.

I have fired up my track on my train in the yard project and been running the Bachmann eggliner engines as my test trains:Thinking_Face_Emoji_large(24x24)::Thinking_Face_Emoji_large(24x24):.

I think kids are going to love watching the new eggliners..

    Have a good day.
