  1. Hi Chuck: Well I model Pennsy, but would have loved to model the Milwaukee Road, if only there were some Milwaukee prototypes available in live steam. And I would have loved modeling the impressive electrics they used. Here is a photo of my K4 in live steam in gauge one in full flight. I chose pennsy because I like that husky no nonsense look of their steam engines, and the availability of some steamlocos and information. Easier from France. I include a photo of a Swiss friend's Hiawatha in live steam in 1/32 scale entirely scratch builtI made that photo at an exhibition we ran at in the Mulhouse museum. And lastly another big atlantic an E6 hauling the Detroit Arrow here in Ardèch, France. Happy modeling.
  2. Unfortunatly the photo shows an F7 which I would be interested in, as the only modification I would need to do to make a correct PRR F unit is the pilot. But it is claimed to be an F3 (which MTH already released but with the wrong Tuscan livery!) I have tried to contact MTH people with no success about this issue and they just don't seem to care (It's probably sold out anyways by now). This is a darn shame as an F7 would have been much easier to detail into something realistic. The high fan F3 (there were only five sets I think) had streamlined number bopards and chicken wire between the portholes. Only one set had the freight type pilot (as per MTH) and all the others had passenger pilots. The later F7 would have the correct type number boards. But this unit would have at least the correct livery. Only two sets of FP7 had tuscan and five stripes. I wish somebody out there in the USA would contact them to find out what F unit they do intend to produce. Out here in France it is difficult to get that info. Cheers,Simon
