  1. Thanks Ben I have looked at every one of them. But you know how it is live is better than a picture.
  2. My Wife and I were not able to make the 2015 NGRC in July as we all ready had our Vacation time planed for the fall. We will be traveling from Springfield Mo. to Denver / Durango on Sep.27 - Oct.9 2015 and were wondering if any one would be willing to show us there RR? Our plan is to start with Caboose Hobbies then Co. RR Museum then start riding RR's. We are going to try and ride most of the Scenic Rail Roads in the area and if time allows we will go to the Durango area again. We road the Durango, Silverton 2 years ago on July 4th 2013. We are wanting Ideas for our B & O RR ( BEES & OWL RR) Any ideas or things to see would be a great help. As you can see in my last post we have track on the ground and air. Now we need to start giving building's some real thought, that is what this trip will be about. Ps. We have one invite to the TRR in Denver. Thank You Jim & Julie Hoot Owl Lane Bees LLC & B & O RR Bee & Owl RR
  3. That is Bee & Owl RR. We started back in March building a stone wall so we could start with a level area. Then we back filled and graded in April. Started laying track in June. We had trains running in July. Installing bents for the trestle work now. August
  4. We leveled the raised area of our track today. I will have over 40' of trestle to build. I have most of it designed already but was wondering about fire barrels? How far apart would / do you place fire barrels when building your trestle? Thank You for any ideas. Jim
  5. Thank You benshell We changed our lay out so I don't need one at this time but when we add the next phase I will need it. Now I can start building 50' of trestle and bridges. Now the fun begins. Jim
  6. I was informed on another forum that the correct name is Diamond Cross.
  7. Has any one made there own cross or X section of track? We are laying ours out and we have a spot were it crosses but not enough room for a bridge. It is also at an odd angle. I have an idea of how to do it just thought I would ask first. I will try to start a thread with pictures some time soon. Between keeping Honey Bees (Swarm & Cutout Calls) and work I have been to busy to even get on here lately. Jim & Julie B & O RR Bee's & Owl Rail Road Jim Hoot Owl Lane Bee's LLC
  8. Thanks Guys That is what I needed. There really is not much to them is there. Jim
  9. Were do I find the model number on a Bachmann Spectrum locomotive? I picked up one for $20 at a swap with 2 coaches, tender and Locomotive. Tender has Denver & Rio Grand on it. The Locomotive just has #14 on it. The motor runs but it sounds like a gear is striped. I have never dismantled a G Scale Locomotive before so I would like to do some research before I jump in. Just for some background, I have been working on things like this for many years just not any trains. Jim
  10. Nice work. May I ask were you got the stone on the face. Jim
  11. Thank You Chuck What I am looking for is some type of a printable chart that gives what a curve measured in feet would be in metric? Like in the description you linked, but for all size curves. 18000 R5 15' Diameter Wide Radius Curved Track That way as I change things I know what curves to order. Jim
  12. Is there a chart to help me figure out the size track I need? I have laid out a track to start in spring but I don't do metric. I have 2 - 15' curves but what is that in metric? Thank You for any help with this. Jim

    Grade?

Thanks Trainslayer I am new at Garden Trains and did not pick up on them being so close. Sounds like a day trip coming up. I don't have any thing started yet other than some track on the back porch. But we have a location picked out and I'm working on how to level the grade. The flattest spot we have with in reason drops 31" in 20'. That is the Ozarks Jim
  14. I will be calling them tomorrow. Now I have to design our lay out for out side and get started on it when it warms up.
