sarge97
Looking for references/videos on how to lubricate my g scale. Have a squeak coming from the front truck. Way in over my head here, but my grandson and I are enjoying it all. Thanks.
Rayman4449
Lubricate the following with oil: - Axle ends that go into the side truck frames - Main axle shaft behind the wheels & motor block - Contact point where the truck frame meets the main frame of the engine The first two should eliminate any squeaks. From there if the engine has been heavily used then you could look at removing the motor block from the frames and possibly grease the gears inside. (Re-greasing the gears inside is something you would look at doing only very infrequently and have to make sure you dont over-grease and create more friction. You could also add a small dab of oil on the motor shaft where it goes into the motor itself.

nscaler711
What type of grease for the gears? I use LaBelle 107 in N and it works great for those small gears, but with G scale I know id need something thicker.
