help identify this engine

Hello, I was given a G Gauge engine with no manufacturing markings. I received it in just the Styrofoam shell. There is no outer box or paperwork.

I don't have any G gauge trains, but I have plenty of O and N. A friend thought that since I had other trains, I could use this engine. I do appreciate the thought, but I don't need to invest in a whole new set of track, cars and accessories!

I connected DC power to the two pin connector at each coupler and the wheels turn, the lights shine, and the fan in the top spins. I measured power at the removeable smoke generator but I don't see a switch to turn it off.

I don't think there is power pick in the wheels. Would an engine have gotten power from another car? Maybe an A/B setup?

It did come with another set of couplers that I think match my cheap battery powered Christmas train.

Does anyone have any hints as to who made this engine?

Thank you

I found a manual which did NOT describe a set of switches under a cover. I also found a parts diagram that showed the switch cover. The cover was easy to remove once I knew where it was.

The motor power switch was set to "battery" which I guess is why it only ran when connecting power to the plug at the coupler. After switching it to "track", I can put power on the wheels. That is probably why it was given to me, someone couldn't get it to run.

I did turn off the smoke box.
