Jerry B44
I got a damaged Big Boy last year, had broken frames. Well, my repair did not hold on the front drive, so trying a new approach using fiberglass. Not room for much thickness so thought it may work. I had used 1/4" brass bars to hold the broken pieces, screwing into the threaded holes that were in the frame for the brakes, so can't stop it! Anyway, in this picture I have things fitted together and glued. After this pix I used fiberglass and lapped it over to the inside some also. Goofed by getting some resin on the brass rails, which I need to remove to get the motor back in.
Jerry B44
Got it back together, had a nice run with it and all seemed fine. No wind this afternoon(rare here) and the smoke was going about 3' high, I had a great time! Sure a great locomotive.
