OK, my first project is an E1A pilot section. When I add this to my E7 shell, It will be able to transform into an E1 or E6. I will be making a urethane mold for repetition of parts. This part took 3 hours to print. Made out of PLA. Very high res. shows rivets well. Cost of printer was around 1650. I have always said that when a 3d printer was produced that printed parts with smooth surfaces and at a reasonable price, I would buy one. Well I found it. It is a Bambu X1 Carbon. If you look at the reviews on Youtube, everyone loves it. This printer does everything for you, leveling, nozzle prep., and a bunch of other things. This is good for me, because I know nothing about these things. From what I understand, you insert the .stl file and push the button. It is multicolor, 4 colors, auto filament change, and has a camera, so if I am at Bob Evans having a cup, I can monitor it while sipping. All of the things that I didn't want to learn about 3d printing, I don't have to, because this thing does it for me. Also, it is said to be very fast and prints carbon and nylon, but I found out by watching tests on Youtube that regular plastic is just as strong as the exotic stuff. So, that's it for now, oh, I spent near 1900.00, including some add ons. Bought from the co. itself. I will get it in a couple of days, and I will share my first print. Bob. Yes, I am still messing with trains and building a 24 inch model of the USS Hoga tugboat, a hero of the Pearl Harbor attack. I also designed a rotating jig for building model boats, works well. Can see it on youtube. My channel is omiateeful Bob.

So a PS1 doesn't have a polarity switch? I am almost sure that this is a PS2 as it was bought at the MTH close of business sale when they shut down and they were testing this engine for future sale. Oh well, this doesn't matter as this one will end up just a dummy. I have another PA and a PB, I just have to decide what road to paint them. The PB is a Santa Fe Warbonnet, so most likely I will paint the other two as Santa Fe. The other PA is a PS3. Bob.

I couldn't help it. I paid much more for this one than the other 5 that I have because this one was brand new in the package, never opened with no damage, unlike the others that I have purchased. This one will be pulled by the T1. Bob.

I bought an MTH loco on Ebay and wondered if anyone has any input as to these models. It appears to be all there, just made up of different colored parts, and some are clear plastic. It has a polarity switch, so probably PS2 or PS1, I don't know. So, just thought I would share this with you. Bob.

I finally got the part to my Beugler pinstriping tool and tested it making the PRR stripes and they came out well, now waiting for paint. I will have to learn how to pinstripe with a brush for the curves on the front of the loco. Bob. https://youtu.be/fQoR87mbCnc

Here is the printing on the locomotive, came out fair, not as good as I hoped.

I have not posted in a while, but it wasn't as if I wasn't doing anything with this project, I am just slow. If you remember a while back, with the T1, I used a Buegler pinstriping tool to put the PRR stripes on the tender. Well I made a new holder that is a little updated compared with the original holder. I have devised a holder for pens and the pinstriping tool that is far better. I am posting a video of the pen holder in action spelling out the PENNSYLVANIA name that will go on the loco, just a test for now. Today, after some more lining up, I will attempt to apply it to the loco. This pen holder has no spriings, as it works on gravity only, just the wt. of the pen and the tube that holds it. Here is the video, I hope. I forgot, when you are on my YouTube channel, there are some more videos of the holder and the way that I will mount the Buegler tool.

Oh I doubt that, I don't think I will live long enough to learn all that is necessary. I am trying to learn to create dry transfer letters and it is hard to find info. on this subject, sounds like the people doing it are very secretive about their methods. Bob.

I thought that they were a little long myself, but it's the scale length. They will look better with the other cars in tow. Jerry, I have gone crazy with these Alps printers, I now have four, two MD1300's, two MD5000's, and one Roland PC12. I see these printers on Ebay for so cheap and can't resist buying them. New the Roland cost 5000.00 new, and I got it for 312. They fascinate me. This Roland PC12 is an MD5000 on steroids. It also cuts. These printers are not made anymore, so repairs have to be made, so I am learning as I go along. When I got the Roland, it wouldn't initialize and got a red light, and so I found out that there is a bar code on the door needed to orient the carriage, it was dirty, and when I cleaned it, it prints great now. These things are amazing. I have also bought a pad printer and a laser plate or cliche maker. I will be pad printing some numbers and logos on the cars. As if I don't have enough to do. Bob.
