  1. I finally learned how to use my Alps printer. I am going to attempt to get these decals on the locos without wrinkles. The last picture was a test to see if the decal was not transparent and it is not, so it worked. I layered the colors, white, then one spot yellow, then, two layers of the regular color yellow and then a pass with the clear cover print and the color came out opaque not see through as some of my experiments did. Bob.
  2. Thanks, next is the paint if I can find the correct Tuscan Red. Bob.
  3. I keep finding parts to install. Bob.
  4. The mounts for the door, lights, cockpit have been mounted. Also the diaphrams have been fitted. This is plus for building in 1:32, even parts from other manufacturers fit. The door fits perfectly. Bob.
  5. Dive in there Joe, the 3d printer's price is down. Just learn to draw in 3d and you've got it. Bob.
  6. I have changed my mind about using the MTH cab. I removed the cab and replaced it with the Rich Garich cab as it looks more accurate than the MTH cab. I will have to construct the MTH mounts within the cab for mounting the MTH stuff. Bob.
  7. All of the hard stuff is done, now just painting and final assembly is necessary. Won't be long. Bob.
  8. Some of you may know this about the center axle of the 3 axle NWSL block. The center axle does not have bushings between the case and the wheel as the outside axles have. The center one is allowed to float for tighter radii. Well sometimes the pickup bearing will float outside the case and cause the axle to tilt. It will not right itself, so the only way to correct this is to disassemble the block and re install this bearing. The white tabs that you see, were glued on the bearing to prevent the bearing from slipping outside of the case. The axles are still allowed to track back and forth without dislodging.
  9. Here is where I installed the speed sensor. Bob.
  10. The TIU., and in the A unit will be the MTH decoder and battery. Bob.
  11. The reason that I used an F3 cab is that is has all of the proper mounts for the lights, cab interior light and the engineer and controls mount. In the B unit, I used a roof vent from the F3 also to allow the sound to escape from the B unit. Bob.
  12. The reason is, I like the sounds and control that the DCS system offers, plus that is all that I use, except for the smaller phone control. It doesn't have all of the controls that the full system has. What decoder that you have used that has the sound quality that the DCS system has? Bob.
  13. Fitting the mth electronics in the B unit and hope that it clears the trucks, looks like it will. Bob.
  14. It will be PS3 and NWSL motor blocks. Bob

  17. Sean, I recently bought a Nissan Leaf all electric and love it. I was thnking that if my batteries don't work out, perhaps I could install a leaf blower. I do have a problem with driving long distances as the exstension cord is usually not long enough. Bob.
  18. Sorry I forgot, what are you up to these days. Bob.
  19. Yes, my no. 1 interest is building I have both sides molded and I am going to pour some sides today. Bob
  20. I am finally getting around to building an E7 A and B for the Broadway limited with some Finescale cars. This will complete my 4 trains with the correct locos with the correct, I hope, cars. I will have to replace the number boards on the cab to the earlier style. Bob.
  21. This was my first project using a treadmill motor. A large format sander, variable speed with a vacuum pickup for dust. If you want to see other projects, you can search,, omiateeful on YouTube. Surprising to me is that the most viewed video was some fancy concrete bases that I made for block columns for my house. Bob.
  22. Since this area is reserved for "anything" I thought that I would share some of my other endeavors. Bob.
  23. I used this scissor lift for installing the ceiling drywall and installing some of the kitchen cabinets, it was a real help. Bob.
  24. I had a sailboat and didn't like to manually step the mast, so I automated it with a remote controlled winch, worked very well, yes, I am lazy. Bob.
