  1. Hi Joe, Looks good, I have done similar. Not all, but some are done. I have some pictures ..... Kadee 1920, Mu Ozark Pieces
  2. Thanks for the explanation, How many B units you want to build with motors ? I think 2 A units with motors pull a long train without motorized B Units. How will you synchronize the various drives. That's not easy, you always have somewhere slippage Good Luck
  3. Hello Jens, Why do you want to change the F7 PS3 Decoder to ESU ? I think the sound of ESU Nohab is very good, but that's not the sound of the F7's. I know many people who have changed the PS2 Decoder to DCC. But no DCC decoder has the sound of the Dash 8 as MTH, as an example And one more thing, the MTH smoker takes a lot of power, it has three heating coils. This is too much for Massoth etc. This can be a problem.
  4. I like “ Milka “ ... But this is a beautiful MTH tank car, built in 2005, but new, must have. Blackened wheels with high flanges, looks good. Wheel flanges reduced slightly, 1mm The trucks are new painted, not shiny and somewhat dirty. Marklin had this same model in the Maxi line
  5. Beautiful Video Joe, but the triplex is much too fast, and at the wrong end of the train.
  6. Hey, I'm Dash 8 .... Ray is right, that should work. The wheels of the MTH diesel are all the same, the same diameter, the same flange.... I also have Märklin track, can you see in the image. MTH has the correct back to back spacing of the wheels, 40mm. This is very important for turnouts like Märklin ( EX Hübner ) or Hegob, MSN....
  7. The Hooker Club car 2014 with a little dirt from the rails. No weathering provided, it should look almost new. The trucks are repainted, not shiny. Various pigment coatings and for the couplers Kadee 1906 one gauge.
  8. So far, I believed 18 volts is peak TIU Input. An error of mine I have 16-17 volts track voltage. The manual says 24 Volt DC is peak That's a big difference to yours setup I will raise the voltage slightly I use a switching power supply with adjustable current limitation That's a bit safer if the locomotive has a short-circuit in turnouts. The TIU has no automatic short circuit detection as my DCC epuipment The circuit of the turnouts is similar to Simon's in the other thread. small locomotives require turnouts with polarized switch frog For measurements a RRampmeter, type 4, which is for DC, AC and DCC in large scale, works great. Thank you again
  9. small joke had to be, Many want big steam engines, me too. But on my small layout are the curves too small I like the UP 9000, which have their own sound, and the AC-6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXlPArr96b0&feature=youtu.be
  10. Thank you, That helps me. Not all my engines have the same speed. So far I have 2 engines formed together in a Lash up. Three engines with smoke require about 7.5 A. That's a lot.
  11. Erie Quad, nice Engine with the wow Factor
  12. Hi Joe, fantastic train, a Wow factor ... and a very nice garden Some of your tankers I have .... I like tankers. Is that a lash up with three engines? No speed problems with the rear engine? I always take a dummy engine, more secure. And I Want Your Harley Flat 70-76031 for my Harley Dash. 8
  13. Ok, I can help, here the missing images. Stolen for me and you ..
  14. Jens wrote... I found a on YouTube with some UP F7s of the previous batch, and if I had a tail, I'd be wagging it by now Jens You like the F7, here's a picture for you. The video is from me. That was the last I could get
  15. Hey Joe, I'm sorry about your dog. and excuse for the digressions I put a little video of Max in my railroad channel There's also a video showing the Prime Beacon is ready. Cheer up, life goes on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV27W3KeTq8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX7opXgGU8E
  16. Yeah, good idea Joe, but I do not cut a dash in small pieces. That makes me nervous. You've built a nice model, pack it and send it to MTH as a prototype. If MTH builds the ACE's, first I buy ear plugs for me and my Skotty Max. The Air Starter has it in itself, great sound ....
  17. Hi, UP 1983 SD 70 ace and UP 1982 and UP 19.....
  18. Small Update For this ( or that ? ) Dummy I built a voltage buffer with 8 Greencaps. The capacity is 5 F, voltage 2.5 volts. The capacitors are low impedance. This is important. The capacitors support the voltage regulator for lighting. The capacitors are in series, maximum voltage 20 volts. That works 18 sec. Without power from the rail.
  19. Thank you all, In the dark it looks good, the video is too bad, I try it again later. This is a Swagelok fitting VA 10mm, very expensive. The rings are honed flat. The hood is made of glass and red on the inside, with dip paint for light bulbs. For ATSF yellow. The electronik comes with 6 volts. I take a DC / DC converter, 1 amp. The bulbs are replaced with LEDs 5 volts, built-in resistor The speed is adjustable via potentiometer. Works like the original. I have found a video, not mine. Good Luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPl0dmbGoR4
  20. Prime beacon... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9V93fIl1Gk&list=UUs-1J5encyIiXg398nG3bMw
  21. Sorry, incorrect entry ... Some Pictures, i hope you understand, That is a Gyrolok Brass Fitting 10 mm. You need the compressions ring and olive. Glass with rum flavoring or vanilla Diamond grinding disc 4 channel running light and 4 LED's 5 Volt instead the mini bulps. Rotation speed adjustable, works with 6-12 volt. Thank you
  22. Thank you, Sorry for delay, Yes, I have this engine, but it's my last Aristo. What would you like to see, on the track or pictures of the rebuild? Next I want to build, this rotating beacon for my CNW Dash 8
  23. So almost ready, where are the 48 'Johnstown America Corp Bethgon Coalporters - CNW? I'm waiting for
  24. Excuse me Sir Many years ago I built a GP 40 as shown with air conditioning, etc. The ATSF had only the GP 2964 in stock In an accident 1988, the locomotive was destroyed. In 1984, she was with round light, air conditioning and a Sinclair antenna. My last model in 1/29. Good by Aristo....
