  1. Hallo Thomas, Sieht gut aus, gefällt mir gut, sauber gearbeitet, habe früher mal eine GP 40 umgebaut , steht im Spur 1 Forum unter US Bahnen. Very nice, good work
  2. Thank You. At the moment I'm building this CNW unit for DPU transport. http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Ftrn.trains.com%2F~%2Fmedia%2Fimages%2Frailroad-reference%2Fask-trains%2Fmay-2011%2Ftrn-at0511_06.jpg%253Fh%253D412%2526la%253Den%2526mw%253D600%2526w%253D600&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Ftrn.trains.com%2Frailroads%2Fask-trains%2F2011%2F05%2Fdpu-rear-markers&h=412&w=600&tbnid=LPSR01Dkl017jM%3A&zoom=1&docid=cvH8cjKh8XhMWM&ei=kFZJVJ3NJ8T1OPnvgNgB&tbm=isch&client=firefox-a&iact=rc&uact=3&dur=2101&page=4&start=57&ndsp=19&ved=0CIACEK0DMEg This is a dummy unit as a helper at the end of the train. I know this is not the right rail company. I know you like modern railway, try it. I build the electronic into the rear truck, which is empty.
  3. Hallo du-bousquetaire, You have a lot of repair work to the track every year. This is a very big difference to indoor. I never repair the track, track cleaning, finished. My Turnouts are glued, I thought that does not work. Now, after more than 20 years, I can say it's good. Previously, there were few parts for the construction a turnout. My Turnouts are simple, but it works. Turnout engines from Feather, not digital. I can operate DCS or DCC. In the beginning I had problems with DCS. I had no desire to DCS. After a few years I got a new TIU with 4.1, much better. For this topic, a few pictures according to your idea The Harley Boxcar is no real, but I use it for Track cleaning. The Bolster has been stable with a sheet I do not like Trackcleaning Cars. This looks better. Hard to see on the last picture. This goes well with trucks of MTH
  4. Thank you for your nice comment. I have a few pictures taken from the actual conversion, a Harley Davidson Box car. You have a very nice garden and a great layout, what a long Train… And a nice area. I see J&M Boxcars, right? It is difficult for me to explain, my English is so bad, but I like to try it. This 2part adhesive ( Stabilit express ) works with metal, brass, wood and many plastics. The surfaces are roughed, the brass oxyid must be removed. Take sandpaper, rough. For the trucks I take a little milling machine. The holes for the ball bearings, or for the bolster in the image, etc. At first the truck bolster is milled flat on the bottom. Then turn around and enlarge the hole to 7mm, an elongated hole. I use a 6 mm end mill. The centering does not change. The brass plate is extended from 6 to 7mm. With a reamer. Glue the brass plate on the edge with the elongated hole. When the glue is hard, finished with a reamer.
  5. I bought a Flatcar of CMP, and the stock car in the picture above. Your flat car looks great, beautiful old. I have done the same work. The first Box car is ready, I like it.
  6. Thank you for your reply It works fine, no Problems. I have not cut the underbody. The Truck Bolsters are very wide, it is sufficient for 7 mm offset. Of course, the Bolster is not above the other, but no one can see. I think for the Box cars it's the same job, I only have a few. It's worth it. That looks much better. The first is the C & O from 2010 or so, with Ball Bearings and SV Wheels. By the way, I would like to see a new Production of cars like Row and Company, Eastern Railways etc., Stock Cars, short Hoppers, Gondolas.... for my small indoor layout. Modern Stuff is too long for my curves…and my eyes...
  7. Remaining works, the sheets are made of brass. I have it painted black like the AMS Reefers. Lovely employment for Christmas Thank you
  8. That's right, the Bolsters are wrong. I did not notice this error, I think I'm blind. you can cut out the bolster from the ground, asymmetrically, turn and glue together again. That's a lot of work. I changed the Truckbolster. Made a new hole with a milling machine. 7mm more on both sides, which is 1.5 feet. Looks better, right ? Tomorrow is the test run, I hope it works. The first Picture shows before...
  9. I try a Flat Car with 16 wheels made of wood, such as the Wabash 55 tons Very old stuff, but I like the heavy flat cars A few years ago I made a drawing, then built the frame, but Archbar trucks I could not find, do not exist in 1/32? The Ozark are narrow gauge. On the picture you can see AMS Reefer trucks, 1/32 scale 52 mm wheelbase Also I need stake pockets…
  10. Very nice , i hope it works good with DCS
  11. Thank you for your experiences, it helps me. All my engines will be slightly different with smoke and speed. I have not done anything wrong. What I miss in DCS, accessory decoder for installation in freight cars or coaches. That example here goes very well with DCC The DCC-decoder controls motor and couplers. Works good with AMS couplers.
  12. You are right, normally the painting of MTH is very good. I like it. The engine remains as it is, the fish is eaten, if you know what I mean. The smoker, If I start the engine, the smoke is very thin, barely visible. To get more smoke I press labored smoke. At level 5 or 6, the smoke is clearly visible, a beautiful flag. The ammeter shows the more power consumption of the smoke unit I do not want to overheat or kill the smoke unit. To fill the smoke unit I use a pipette, because the hole is a bit small. There is no leakage at the shell. I think the plastic channel between the smoke unit and exhaust is too long and too thin. I have a picture. The gasket was not sitting correct, I replaced it. There are also V0 with 4 exhaust pipes, is there a difference? Now, what I want is more smoke without using labored smoke at the remote like my Dash 8’s. and F7. Thank you
  13. This UP-V0 locomotive is from the first production early 2010 Six months later, the color cracked as in the picture. My MTH Service Center has sent Pictures to Mike, no comments I wait and wait ......MTH has a thick skin, I also I have to watch my blood pressure ... .Jan keep cool. I know this is not an isolated case with this locomotive. In the future I will spend my money differently, for example. new AMS Hopper. And Ray, I use MTH smoke oil Thank you
  14. Here in Germany the market for MTH one gauge is like dead. Your VO’s are looking good. You build very beautiful models, that takes a lot of time. I only do small things, improvements of models, as well as I can. The VO's are well designed, have metal frame, good gearboxes My VO UP has finishing or Paint defects. I wanted to get a new .... nothing I killed the Decoder, short circuit at the polarity switch. Cold solder joint. I got a new Decoder for free from my Dealer I think the smoke is a little thin ... The couplers are Kadee. Thank you
  15. What's on my workbench ...... These are prototypes of laser cut things, simple cars without a lot of detail Built by Michael Neidhard of "easygleis" These were the first models to test on my layout in 2012-13 Now you can buy it, built for Gardenrailroad. Ready built with color and lettering. Trucks from MTH or USAT In the pictures in 1/32 scale, also available 1/29 or 1 / 22. Thank you
  16. Thanks for your answer Joe, I also have a lot of stuff. I can open a business to sell it. When I finished the Hooker I add an image Greetings from Max
  17. If you really want, Today I spoke with Michael Neidhard from “ easygleis “ He is a MTH-dealer and a good friend of mine. I asked him about MTH tankers from the older production He has a Tropicana in stock, new in the box, but only one I have a picture of the old site If you want kontakt him via email http://easygleis.de/ 6 Weeks ago i got a 2 Feet Dog- Foot Tank car, i call him " Max "
  18. Thank you, The axles are from Sierra Valley, Size 3, made in USA Look at Ozark A dozen costs 55 US I paint the axes inside The SV axes are too short for the end caps. I glued it
  19. If you want more, take the new tankers The old things are very rare Pictures in the catalogs are no eye catchers These are drawings or graphics, no prototypes The models are beautiful and pretty fine. That's why I'm showing real models, no pictures or catalog item numbers I think some older models are made even more beautiful. I don't like black with a little graphic Wheels are AMS
  20. Ok Joe, A little fun, but here the next for you Looks good too.
  21. MTH tankers are my favorites Thank you for the picture I ordered the same here. Hopefully it will not take too long. The best part for me is the Engelhard
