Jerry B44
Got some info from Cheyenne. Looks like they expect to have the BB 4014 in Cheyenne in time for Depot Days May 17 & 18. GUess it will be the only time you can see it.The excitement is building at the Cheyenne Depot Museum. Within weeks Union Pacific’s “BigBoy†No. 4014 will arrive. Far and away the most interesting locomotive type ever built, thesemillion+ pound steam engines contributed significantly to the strengthening of our Nation’s economyand victory in two wars before their retirement in the early 1960’s. While the locomotive will only beon public display for a short time—and annually during Depot Days during reconstruction—it’s verypresence at the Union Pacific shops brings back memories of steam’s apogee, here in Cheyenne.Little more detail here in this PDF.http://www.cheyennedepotmuseum.org/sites/default/files/docs/page/webspring2014.pdf
