Jerry B44
I just got some Tru-color paint in UP Armour Yellow #TCP-25-2 in a 2 oz jar. Cleans up with Acetone. The paint seems to be a perfect match for MTH's UP color. The paint is pre-thinned for spraying. UP's armour color varies from Aristo to USA to MTH none are the same. Thought some would like to know. I have not tried it yet, did put a spot on a MTH UP caboose and it matched up real good.
xl_special
Jerry, stir and stir somemore. That stuff is great, but you really need to stir it just prior to using. Larry
Chuck
That's all I use is Tru-Color paint. The acetone in it makes the paint "bite" into plastic rather well. I have a $200.00 order being processed right now! I buy it by the 16 ounce bottles. I use this for paint mixing/ stirring. http://www.micromark.com/cordless-mixer-for-model-paints,7616.html
Jerry B44
Wow Chuck, you are a big time painter! If I wanted to paint this Tru Color over a UP color by another company, would it work okay? A little dab with cotton swab seemed to be okay. Chuck
Jerry, I can't answer that because I've never done it...I always strip the original paint off first. Tru-Color will cover itself just fine when painting multi-color schemes. I always reduce the paint with acetone by about 40 - 50% when I spray. Jerry B44
Jar says it is already reduced for spray.
Chuck
Well if you want a rough finish then use as is. They do sell thinner TCP-15...wonder why?
