  1. Because the VS terms and conditions is posted it would trump as it is more expansive and in a lawsuit they would point to that. Yeah no thanks I certainly would not be posting any of help info on that forum in the future. The fact that this company VS has taken over which has nothing to do with model trains at all indicates the intent is profit only.
  2. Yeah my concern continues to be the history of lawsuits. Regardless what is said, if the lawsuits are true and as described then it's still an issue.
  3. Thanks Kevin. The noted history of lawsuits is what still concerns me and is something folks may still want to keep in mind.
  4. I have seen some interesting discussion about the sale of MLS to another company. Be aware of some of the concerns raised about VS claiming ownership of all user posted content on their sites. http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/20303/mylargescale-com-sold/view/page/3 -Raymond
  5. Yeah that's what it sounds like. I hope the group wanting to do a full operational restoration can get control and get it back running. I've seen this engine in person and it is a beast of a Hudson with 84" drivers. Would be a real shame if it was allowed to sit and continue to rot as this 'new' old group has apparently allowed for many decades.

  7. Hi there Simon, If I understand correctly where you talk about one engine per remote, are these both engines in the same consist? If so what you will want to do is create a Lash-up in the remote and add each engine you want in that lash-up then give the lash-up a name. Then when you select that Lash-up name (it will then be it's own engine ID in the remote) it will start both engines up at the same time and control both (or more) all with the same remote commands. Is that what you meant?
  8. Exciting to follow! http://www.uprr.com/newsinfo/community_ties/2013/november/1114_4014update.shtml
  9. Big Boy 4014 has finally started it's journey and is now moving from it's original display location:
  10. I agree Mark I like the use of the driver lighting which does make for far more interesting night time running. My Challenger is the only engine I've done that to and it looks cool running at night. Hope it's a good seller in the states, it looks very smooth running.
  11. Well for sure it never matters how simple an idea seems, coming up with the idea is what matters and this is the real way to fully eliminate any inherent issues with the stock unit. :-)
  12. This will be interesting to see. Glad to see some new product coming to market You thinking of getting one?
  13. For those interested I have the MTH O gauge units in stock for $45.00 each. ($50.00 if you want it pre-wired for an Aristocraft engine) I definitely plan to go through and upgrade all my Aristocraft units with this setup.
  14. For those interested I have the MTH O gauge units in stock for $45.00 each. Very nice work on the full G gauge unit in the engine! Given the absolute minimum of modification required for the original you did using the O Gauge and given the fact it's easier to get them plus it's for a diesel I will probably just install the O gauge units in all mine.
  15. Thanks for posting Jim. I had placed a second order with aristocraft for key gears and motors to ensure I would always have parts for my engines. It appears they are completely sold out now of gears. I would say without any doubt, the way to go on replacing Aristocraft smoke units is to use an MTH smoke unit inside the original casing as Joe showed in his ingenious upgrade on his! http://www.gscaletrainforum.com/index.php?/topic/58-hop-up-ur-smoke-units/ I actually keep a good stock of these O gauge units on hand for anyone wanting them. At some point I will probably start going through and doing this very upgrade to all of my Aristocraft Dash-9s.
  16. BTW no charge to test the board, just return shipping if it tests ok for some reason.
  17. Sorry to hear that. I will send you my info if you want to mail the board to me to test.
  18. Video from the Fall 2013 TCA Open House: There will be two versions of the App, a free and more advanced (for fee) version. Both are slated for release in 2014 with the new Wifi module that will be needed to be run with the TIU.
  19. Some new information on the pending PS3 upgrade kits... MTH is working on a daughter-board that will allow the PS3 board to drive the existing incandescent bulbs on PS2 engines and also allow it to read the PS2 optical reader. So the PS3 upgrade kit will be a direct drop-in install/upgrade. You will be able to load the existing PS2 files to the PS3 board. An updated secondary file that is used as a part of PS3 sound files will be updated and provided for this purpose and so we should see this provided for all prior released engines with PS2. So again, this will be a direct drop in upgrade to PS3. Time frame is still 2014. Video from the Fall 2013 TCA Open House:
  20. Hi Quentin, Just replied to your email. A replacement PS2 board will run $155 and looks like around $12.00 shipping without insurance. I would preload the sound file so you could just drop it in and go. Only question I would have is to to understand what happened to the first so that we made sure nothing would happen to the new board after it was installed. Replacement boards are only available through MTH Dealers and Service centers like myself. I have these boards in-stock if you wanted it. Raymond
  21. I will say that I actually like the uniformity of the train with all the same cars.
