  1. That's one heck of a collection you have Jerry! Must a garage just for them! I enjoyed the videos... Thanks for posting them. Charles
  2. Jerry, We lost a brand new one as well but some of the folks lost MANY! They say the combination of wind, dry conditions, and extended cold did them in! I've been around a while but never saw anything like this... Some are completely dead while others, right next to them, are OK... Go figure... Charles
  3. Joe, Love the LONG straight-away! You could get a bullet train going on that.... I was curious... I need a LONG bridge for my layout..... Perhaps two of them. The one you have in the last picture looks perfect... Did you build that or if not, where did you find it? Charles
  4. What is going on with TeamSpeak? Got on tonight and mentioned trains and the three individuals on there bailed on me! Looking at their "Names"... I doubt that they have anything to do with railroads or modeling! Charles
  5. Thanks Jim... I'll save the extra "parts" for future use! Charles
  6. Isn't that "Elsie"? Saw many of those in my youth... Also managed to "snitch" a few doughnuts "outta da back of da Truck" (Boston accent there).... MMMMMMmmmmmmmm Anyway... What scale do you use? I have 1/24 buildings (POLA?), 1/29 Buildings (PICO), 1/29 trains, 1/24 trains, 1/32 cars and trucks, and God knows what scale the "folks" are!!!!! How do you tie all these together? P.S. Love the truck! Charles
  7. Haven't had enough practice to get into the "Scratch Build" stuff yet! If I can't find the matching platform, I may have no choice!
  8. House of Trains? Haven't seen any POLA stuff in there for a while but I will keep looking. Not sure who makes POLA anymore .... LGB? Thanks Jerry
  9. Nice find Jerry.... I've never seen one of those.... yet. Charles
  10. Bought and assembled the Pola g scale Silverton Station but I'd like to get the matching platform. Since this stuff is on the old side, finding one on line is a problem. Should anyone come across the platform or kit for sale... I would appreciate a "heads up".. Thanks for looking... pic of my wanted item below... Got the pic from toys.period.com but they are out of stock for the item. (Their pic is actually missing some trip parts on the roof.) Charles
  11. I mentioned in my blog that I had picked up a few buildings at the Council Bluffs Railroad gathering here a week or so ago. Never used POLA before and I'm impressed with the quality of the parts. This particular Silverton Railroad Station was apparently produced around 1990 and was still in it's original (but slightly worn) box. After figuring out which glue worked best on it, I got to work with the help of my wife putting this thing together. It's about 80% completed but I want to add some items (and lights) to it. But....... Before I do that, there are some parts that are listed in the parts section of the "directions" but I'm not sure what they are or where they go. Since some of you guys have been modeling for years I thought perhaps you may recognize what these are or what they are for.... Couldn't find anything on the net nor could I find a picture with these parts in it! Let me know if you have any ideas and THANKS for your time Charles
  12. Larry, Looks like they were in the same wreck! Funny how the parts that are OK match the broken areas of mine! I'd be happy to pay the postage, just let me know how you want it sent. By the way... How would you cut the sections off? Dremel? Thanks again Charles
  13. I'm not sure if this should have been placed in the "kit Bashed" forum but I thought I would try here... I purchased an entire train recently that didn't receive the best of care but 95% of it, I was (or will be) able to, repair. This car took a beating and since I don't have anything else like it, I'd like to fix it. I've seen some of the guys in this forum do some pretty incredible things soooooo.. Is this car salvageable or would you use it for parts? Appreciate your time Charles
  14. Chris, If Rick doesn't buy it, I probably will. Contact me at cdviola@centurylink.net Thanks Charles
  15. Living in Omaha and three houses from a RR Crossing, We will, once in a while, be treated the the real version of what you show there. I'm not sure of the exact engine they use but we can certainly tell it's something different by the bells and whistles it uses! Wenormal hear the loud blasts from the UP Diesels and we tend to "tune them out"... It's a whole different story when the old steamers come by... Nice setup by the way! Charles
  16. I've used TeamSpeak for years in the FlightSim Community and it really brings folks together. There isn't a day that goes by without me talking to friends in England, Australia. and all over the USA. Kinda nice when G Scaling (?) isn't huge in Nebraska.... Saves a bunch of typing as well. I've tried your new set-up but haven't seen anyone on it yet. Great idea, Charles
  17. I was looking for a forum dedicated to G-Scale with a lot of information regarding Garden Railroads and I think I've found it. I've been "catching up" on the last few months and hope to learn a great deal from all of your experiance. Since I am, in the new lingo, "A Newbie", I will be quiet for now and just read! Be grateful for that... Thanks for the forum... Lawman (Charles)
