  1. Hell no, there are many things I like that I don't have, but I can still enjoy them from afar. The dog, that one isn't mine, just a favorite pic I saw on the internet. Some dogs will let ya do anything to them. Mine on the other hand is a self minded Wheaton.
  2. Well, it did arrive, but it was the wrong one. I ordered the Black one and the Green one came instead. I offered Jason 2 options, and so far haven't herd his decision. I'd really prefer the black one. I learned, no shouting, just loud laughter (that spelling doesn't seem right) oh well. And I don't take offense of what people write, I have a sense of humor and like nothing better than making fun of myself. Just wish I could read the dog's mind, bet that would bring a lot of chuckles.
  3. Easter Bunny Train Sparks Brush Fires By Associated Press April 20, 2014 7:50 AM Share on FacebookShare on Twitter A train carrying the Easter Bunny in northwestern New Jersey has ignited several small brush fires. Delaware River Railroad Excursion train (Delaware River Railroad Excursion)The Express-Times newspaper in Easton, Pennsylvania, reports the fires occurred Saturday in Pohatcong Township and Phillipsburg. No major property damage is reported. A firefighter from the New Jersey state forest fire service fell and dislocated his hip. Huntington Volunteer Fire Company Chief Peter Pursell tells the newspaper the diesel engine-pulled train was carrying hundreds of people and had dead leaves in its smokestack. The leaves caught on fire and blew onto brush along the tracks. They ignited eight fires along a 2-mile stretch of tracks in Pohatcong. It’s unknown how many fires occurred in Phillipsburg. The train was temporarily shut down while the fires were brought under control.
  4. it said 'Not currently available' could also be cause I don't have a face book account. thank you for your efforts
  5. lol, ok I shout because I'm hard of hearing. but I'll try to keep it down from now on. This loco was originally expected in October, then I hoped for Christmas, Then I hoped for my Bday in Feb, now it looks like it will be here for the dogs Bday. Does that mean it's hers???
  6. UPS delivery date is Monday 21 April, the brown truck passes here very late in the day so I will start playing with it on Tuesday, barring unforeseen circumstances, always a disclaimer to CMA.
  7. Chuck, now I know where Sierra got the the recording for their sound system. The start up is exactly like that. Thank you for sharing. You sure do come up with some very interesting videos, keep em coming.
  8. Why not just put a plug and socket connector between the powered A units to the unpowered B unit to power the smoke units?? I do that for my USA F3 AA powered units to multiply the power pickups so it is stable over uneven track or turnouts.
  9. After seeing the pics of the postings of rbrown773 I realize the mistake I made in my first castings. I have adjusted them and will attempt to make other castings. I really have no intention to go as far as he as in detail with the upper spring, but I do appreciate the effort and talent it took to do so. Any further input that he has will be greatly appreciated.
  10. I JUST HERD FROM ACCUCRAFT, THE CONTAINER THAT CONTAINS THE FAIRYMEAD LOCOMOTIVES WILL BE AT THEIR FACILITY ON MONDAY, WILL PROBABLY DROP SHIP TO THE CUSTOMERS ON TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY, NO APRIL FOOL HERE, " JUST THE FACTS", quote Jack Webb.
  11. Electric Live Steam, I've only herd about them, have never seen one. I assume track power?? what is the amp draw?? Sounds great. Is there some place I can go to read more about your specific locomotive??
  12. THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE, live steam is really fun, give it another try.
  13. I have several live steamers, mostly Accucraft, don't own any Aster. The Accucrat's needed tweaking, but once 'adjusted properly' they do pretty well. I'm sorry you've had nothing but grief from your Roundhouse, I've read where they are run for several hours at the manufacturers facility before shipment. Both of my Roundhouse locomotives performed flawlessly right out of the box. Have you contacted them about the problem?? and if so what was their response??
  14. ANY DAY NOW JUST SHARING MY ANTICIPATION,
  15. Jerry, thanks for the contact info. I'll give them a call AFTER I attempt to do it with just paper, don't want to mess up what could be fairly expensive material.
  16. Jerry, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, those pics are beautiful AND very informative. Your pics add a whole new dimension to what I am attempting. So I don't have to struggle with the whole rectangle. I am surprised that the 20' curves still cause them to pop out, they sure do look nice. I'm going to look for that material, or try to duplicate it some how. Thank you again,
  17. OPPS, guess I messed that up huh, that 0-6-0 switcher was an AML sparkie just positioned on a Bachmann box. I should have seen that little loop on the coal load that hinted it was made by the same company that made mine, DUHH, OK, I'm the idiot, don't blame the dog.
  18. That Bachmann 0-6-0 switcher looks EXACTLY like the AML Live Steam 0-6-0 that was offered a few years ago. They must have used the same loco as their base. The LS one can pull like I never expected. In fact I lost a gentleman's bet to Jason of the Train Department on the pulling power of the loco. I have a video of it pulling a monster string of cars on Dan's layout. One even has a squeaky wheel journal. LG.
  19. I am basically a steam guy, only have a few diesels, but I have seen more beautiful locomotives right here than I have seen in all my years anywhere, the diesels I saw here are way over the top. Very nice work men.
  20. Chuck, I know exactly of whom you speak in a previous post. I attempted to help some one asking for advice about the K4 on another forum. When I posted video of both my sparkie K4's double headed and mentioned that I was fortunate enough to have a LS one, he posted that he had 4 of them, and they are all defective. I've NEVER had an over heating problem with mine and don't know of any else who has, and I know you had at least two. Only a posting from another EXPERT that SUGGESTED it be so and was picked up and made into fact when there was no real basis for it, he even said it was a POSSIBILITY due to gearing. Mater of fact, going to run my Pre War unit with a string of Aristo Heavyweights in the yard while I do more outside work. If they stop due to over heating I will post so, if not DO DA.
  21. Chuck, as the commercial said "ANY DAY NOW" I'll believe it when I see it, I'll probably ask you for advice on how to post them. I just implanted the pic, hope it brings a few laughs. I have been taking advantage of the nice weather to be outside, and YUP, got a sparkie running around while I'm doing yard work, sound turned up full and whistle blaring.
  22. Simon, thank you for your response. This is certainly going to be something I try. I'm going to resin cast the face plates and imbed a very small round magnet in the top, like the kind used to activate reed switches. I'll have to make sure the like poles are on the same end of each car so the ends attract and not repel. Can always just turn it around before glueing it in place. Great article Simon, and thank you for sharing.
  23. I will anxiously await his response, thank you.
  24. Ray, I looked all over the article for a way to contact him. If you do hear from him, please ask him what he thinks about 'magnetizing' the metal ends so they stick together, but will still pull apart without possibly tearing the paper, thank you.
