Neil Harvey Posted March 2, 2018 Share Posted March 2, 2018 As I`m a newbie I thought I would post a scratch build model.There are two towns on the C&RG,Apache Falls and Los Garagos,the later town is going through a complete rebuild and a new larger depot was needed so as normal a scratch build was planed.The main shell was made from styrene sheet and scribed to resemble woodgrain and braced with 60x60 strip,the roof is molded slate laminated with 40thou styrene sheet for strength,the inner walls are an interference fit within the main structure so can be removed to replace glazing,wiring etc.All the furniture and interior fittings were custom made to fit the space inside including the stove and luggage,the ashtray cigarettes and lighter on the low table are scrap styrene as are the files and books on the agents desk,the seat material is HO brick sheet to give texture,heated an bent with a lighter,pics on the wall are originals painted by me and the figures are LGB,the light units are 16v Piko items fitted in the roof as will be the lighting for the town when done,the depot name boards were from the old depot building.When the weather improves the platform can be built to finish it off, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
