enginear joe
It's a cute little bugger. I couldn't help but bid on it and I won. I said that I wouldn't buy these as I'd prefer the bigger ones. I have to make up for missing that MTH D&H Challenger auction while I was at the Ohio train show!

Jim Miller
I like the modern USAT tank cars. If you think the beer can is heavy you should try the 40 & 55 footers................Jim
enginear joe
Yes, I have those too. For some reason, these seem just as heavy. I bet the weight is in the trucks and the ends. These things seem like bricks!
enginear joe
For clarity, these are USA Trains brand and are supposed to be 1/29 scale.
YoungCR
Curious question, why are the reporting marks the same on both tankers for different companies?
enginear joe
I'm trying to figure out what you mean? The car #'s are different. the loading stats should be the same. If you mean why do they both say GATX, it is a car leasing company. Kodak would lease the car from them.
Dash 8
The Beer Tankers are beautiful and pretty heavy. I like it, but scale isn't for me. I tried a conversion, fits better to my other stuff The Tank wobbles on the Trucks I lowered Truck and Frame Bolster for Kadee body mounted. And slightly narrower platforms and so on. And of course new Wheels, i like this, looks better for me. Not perfect, but possible and runs fine. But a „Beer Can" I can't reduce.
