jime
Has any one made there own cross or X section of track? We are laying ours out and we have a spot were it crosses but not enough room for a bridge. It is also at an odd angle. I have an idea of how to do it just thought I would ask first. I will try to start a thread with pictures some time soon. Between keeping Honey Bees (Swarm & Cutout Calls) and work I have been to busy to even get on here lately. jime
I was informed on another forum that the correct name is Diamond Cross.
enginear joe
I'm not sure how many here lay their own rails? I imagine it's like making several switches at once. There would be four frogs?? I would look at the sites that make custom switches and crossings to see what it would take, if you chose to make your own. http://www.switchcrafters.com/ez-catalog/X381875/86 . http://llagastrack.com/#turnouts . benshell
Hi Jim, I have a custom-made diamond on a curve... my friend made it for me using track I gave him glued to ABS. Electrically one track is continuous and the other has jumpers drilled and tapped on the bottom. The result isn't perfect, but it works. Here are pictures before, during, and after installation. I don't seem to have a good closeup, or a good current picture now that it's ballasted. jime
Thank You benshell We changed our lay out so I don't need one at this time but when we add the next phase I will need it. Now I can start building 50' of trestle and bridges. Now the fun begins. Jim
