Jerry B44
About 15 cars or so. Wonder how many it can pull on a level layout. Ray? You should know. :-)
Rayman4449
The MTH Big Boy can has a pull force of about 7.5 to 8lbs which is very strong. As I recall we had 120 coal cars connected to a single engine on one of our trainshow displays on oval with 20' diam curves. So what the maximum would be I'm not sure. My drawbar tests on the USA Big Boy was about 8lbs pull force (reason MTH pulled so well in comparison is the MTH has traction tires where the USA has all Stainless steel wheels which is a hard and more slippery metal.) Jerry B44
I knew it could pull a lot more, I don't have that many cars, i don't think. I'll try to post this video. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dP6_2qYzW1A"frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Guess it sort of worked. Not sure how to embed here.
