  1. The Canadian Pacific and now also Kansas City Southern are running their Hudson Empress 2816. Link below if you are interested in seeing. I plan to so see it in Franklin Park and hopefully somewhere else while it is on the move. https://www.cpkcr.com/en/media/CPKC-2024-Steam-Tour-Schedule-Dates Brian
  2. The SD70 fleet looks great! I have bunch of the USA trains SD70, always nice running a pair at a time. Brain
  3. Bob, That is really nice of you to offer, but I think you should keep or sell it as is. Its worth some money as is and I am sure there are some southern pacific fans that would love to buy and extra tender as is. Brian
  4. Thank you for your service Bob. That is a very impressive amount of hours especially in combat like that! Keep posting pictures as you go, it's a very interesting project. I cant wait till someone makes a 1:29 scale union pacific auxiliary tender, 3D printing I feel is the only option, no manufacturers will make it. I dont have much experience with 3d printing but I feel that is where g scale is moving too. Have a collection of files and then print your cars you want. Just need a easy way to paint and have pad printed markings instead of decals. Brian
  5. That's looking really sharp. How big a piece can you print at one time? How hard was it to scale up without loosing detail? (I assume this was digital file). On a personal note what position did you have on the huey? Brian
  6. Good choice. I was running the FEF on the basement floor, basic loop with no scenery but the weather is constant and engine weight was no factor, lol. Good luck on fixing up the engine, hopefully Charlesro has the parts you need, they will be pricey if they still have them so be prepared for that. Brian
  7. I dont have a bigboy but I do have a FEF, I cant imagine that running overhead. Make sure that overhead rail is really strong, and no derailments, I wouldn't want that engine falling on your head. That engine looks great, I like the silver and black. Brian
  8. Thanks for posting. I wonder what they will end up making. I am still waiting on the intermodals that were supposed to be out in the spring. Brian
  9. I have a Hudson & mallet with Phoenix sound so I am familiar with it. I messed with it again this morning cant get the sound off but I did manage to get it a little quieter. Brian
  10. Ok, I final got it turned down. Not off but at least I can be in the same room. Ridiculous. Brian
  11. Well, I got the FEF out for the second time this morning and decided I was going to try running with the sound off. As I toggle the button to turn the volume down nothing happened so i tried turning up the volume. That was a big mistake now its extremely loud and I cant seem to do anything to fix it. Chuck do you have any recommendations for me? If anyone else has experience with the FEF or Phoenix sound I would love to hear it. Thank you, Brian
  12. Well I am glad they are going to refund you some, they absolutely needed to. A challenger would be great. USA trains should make a challenger in ultimate series not prestige. Lower selling price and could fit on 10ft dia. easy and came in a lot of road names. Would be popular with everyone I think. Brian
  13. I had a good experiencies on the phone with Mike in parts, my problem was lots of parts were no longer available. Last 2 figures I ordered looked like they came out of destroyed engines, they were rough, I repainted both engineers and installed them in my aristocraft mallet. Future of ultimate series.....no idea. So many opportunities for them to make money but will they? Looking for 4-bays, intermodals, & containers...CharlesRo zero. So many items I would like to get but are not made, most desirable would be the Union Pacific auxiliary tender. I can't be the only one to want at least a pair of these. Brian
  14. Wow Chuck, you did a lot to get that in working order! Very impressive. I am lucky mine came just fine no issues at all. It seems like such a toss up on what you get. When I got my hudson a few years back it couldn't even pull it's own tender. I had to send it back and get a different one in return. Brian
  15. Merry Christmas to you. I got the grey with yellow on Thanksgiving as a present for myself. I wonder how many of each type they made, mine is No. 17. Brian
  16. USA Track is the same way I think. I unscrew the ties from the rail and then used a flathead screwdriver as Chuck said. Brian
  17. Taking on another project...I still want the union pacific auxiliary tankers in 1/29 scale...lol. Seriously looks like a unique project. Good luck and keep us posted. Brian
  18. Thanks for posting. I flew on 909 with Mac at the controls years ago, it was a great experience. He was a nice guy and always talked to me when the collings foundation was in town. I am saddened to find out it was a maintenance issue that cost himself and 6 others there lives. I think he was spread to thin in the recent years, when I flew they had more staff Members. Brian
  19. Chuck...amazing job! The engine is better than anything you could buy. The detail & electronics are excellent, wires are all organized, I am very impressed. I think you need to make a couple of 1/29 scale Union Pacific auxiliary tankers....lol. I really want one. Again impressive job. Brian
  20. I am glad they are still in business. Brian
  21. When Michigan had it's full shutdown, I don't think the business survived. Brian
  22. Thanks for the pictures, its neat seeing that. Keep posting on your build. Have you seen this one yet? I personally have not but would like to. Brian
  23. Nice build. Just curious, where do you live? I live in Elgin.
  24. Dave, That's a nice looking passenger set! Good work getting that put together, it's not as easy as putting on the tracks and running. Brian
