  1. Hi all Weekly Update 6-11-17 The train Yard Project Goes On Here is what was done this past week . Once again not impressive but lots of hidden hours. At least for a old guy. ha Plants are done thank goodness. The boss is happy Weed barrier was all put down. Then wire , wire and more wire to have all the electrical completed. We are talking a inner (About 140' + sides24') and outer loop(105 + sides24' ) with 6 isolated switch controlled sections, 8 remote switches. Not counting auxiliary wire placements extras for expansions . hee she don't know about. All to hopefully be very user friendly with MTH DCS WiFi One Gauge DC trains. Yea I know boy I'm pushing my luck. lol But it's fun trying! The permanent 20 amp circuit for the pond and it's accessories is completed. The dedicated 20 amp circuit is almost done for the train consol. Just have to cut it into the mail panel . You can see in the pictures where the circuitry will all meet up on the deck. Tried to keep it all neat with pretty colors.LOL Believe it or not the plan is for the All major components will be portable and never involved in weather. You will see that later HOPEFULLY. lol Have a great week all. Still having Fun Larry PS Next week 6 plus ton of small rock with to spread with a WHEEL BARROW t.
  2. Outstanding! Thanks Ray Larry PS I got the 3 boxes today.
  3. Hi All While continuing to work and figure out wiring I have another question. The LGB 51755 Momentary Control Box requires AC power to operate my 7 switches. Additionally other LGB accessories also require AC. Currently the way I read the manual on my Bridgewerks 220 does not give me the availability of AC power. I also have a new MRC Powers G 10 AMP that's worthless for AC power according to the manual . 1. SO, can I use one of my USA Power 10 transformers that does provide AC out for nothing but dedicated AC power? 2. AND, would it interfere with my DCS operation? Again thanks for any help Larry
  4. Good one Sean. I usually do the same thing in O gauge except here I don't really know exactly what I'm doing. DC, 2 rail and then add DCS. You would think I want punishment of the brain. lol It's still a fun, new and challenging project for a old retired guy. Larry.
  5. "You are asking very specific questions about wiring for a DCS layout which is something I have spent a good number of hours doing methodical testing to arrive at the recommendations I have. There really aren't many who have done that. " Believe me , I certainly understand that from reading so much of your information. And I am appreciative of you taking the time to answer me here on the forum. DCS to is still like fuzzy math sometimes. Thanks again. Larry
  6. Thanks Ray I'm beginning to think you and me are the only ones on the forum. By the way I received that 220-RM this AM. All I can say is WOW! Thanks Mike. It's going to be a nice addition to this project. Larry
  7. Here is the Inner loop for any advice. Thanks Larry
  8. Ray The out side run is 105 feet. Add the sidings about another 24 feet. HOWEVER I'm only about 60 feet from my train room and , well ? I expect (copy Joe) soon after this is all done I''ll be adding that much more. It will be pre wired for that Right now I'm not doing it. Larry
  9. OK Ray has taken out one issue the (aka watchdog signal) . We have DCS Remote Commander boxes on the way. Now does anyone see any other problems in this? Anything. I'm really trying not to cover all this wire up with dirt , weed barrier and crushed rock and then find out I screwed up. Tonight I hope to draw the inner loop and post to see if you all think there is a issue. Again, thanks for any type of feed back Larry
  10. I would appreciate feedback about my DCS plan for the outer loop with three isolated sections of track. this is LGB brass track R 3 switches and split jaw clamps. all wire is 12 ga low voltage landscape wire. it is 105 feet with 30 feet of side track. my drawing is not very professional but the best I can do. I have read Joe's post and Ray's well written ideas. I still don't have a real good grip on D.C. Two rail. I hope to show you the inner loop when ever I get this pass you.lol Any help good bad what ever is welcomed. Larry
  11. Mike I did answere your e mail and left my phone number . If you can call. thanks Larry
  12. Mike Being new to this site I can't figure out how to e mail you in reference to the 220 RM. I'm in East Tenn. We can't be to far apart hopefully. If you would, and it's still available please e-mail me so we can discuss it at larry1220 @ embarqmail dot com. Thanks Larry

  16. Thanks Jerry I sure hope you share some pictures of it. Larry
  17. I think Jim said it well "My favorite is the last one I purchased ." Sometimes I think it's the one I don't have?? Joe I do like all trains. I have a favorite in numerous companies lol But to to stop fooling around and answer your question. It's going to be hard for me not to say currently it's the Rail King Big Boy when I get track down and start running outside.
  18. Tom , Sean And additional note. I did get Clinchfield decals from Stan yesterday. They look nice and I will eventually get them on my Challenger tender. Larry
  19. Hi All. I'm really not goofing off much on this train in the yard project. The weather has been wet here in East TN. Here is a few pictures of progress. Don't look like much but there is a lot of work hours. Had to extend the space some because the small pond kinda grew. It is a benefit because I'm getting very close to my O gauge train room. ...........be nice to run them big engines right into the room..... it will happen.lol Bargaining continues. Any way, I hope everyone remembers our fallen Military with a prayer and has an enjoyable weekend Larry Semper Fidelis Echo 2/5 67/68
  20. Ok Jerry It looks like it will be December for us. I do think it will be worth the wait. Larry
  21. Well the new Big Boys sure look nice. I just received a old one a few weeks ago that is from 2004 with a hour run time and it looks brand new. No not cheap lol Thanks very much to Ray's help, bugging him with many e-mails I have put his life time battery in it and the new also 2004 Challenger. The results are outstanding with both in conventional and I can't wait to get some track in the yard and fire up the new DCS with WiFi (if it ever stops raining) Just curious Jerry, Did you order the Veterans Dash 8? Larry
  22. Tom , Sean Thanks for the information. I just e-mailed him with pictures and explaining what I would like made. Larry
  23. Joe A guy had it in a glass case never run. I hope to find the proper decals to at least change the tender to Clinchfield. I'm having trouble finding good decals. Larry
