  1. Hi Simon, I hadn't added it or put in a category because I hadn't confirmed specifically the type of power output it has and I have to be careful what I list as a formal recommendation. (Quite a bit of time has passed since we last talked about the TE) . My understanding was it was straight linear like you said (not PWM/PWC) and based on that should be safe. Based on what you are saying it would seem that it is probably safe to use with no risk of damage. As a note, if the intent is to run the trains with a TIU under DCS control, adding a Train Engineer (or anything else like that) in-between the Bridgwerks and TIU negates the benefits of getting a Bridgewerks for its ultra clean DC power output. If a comparison is done on track signal tests between straight Bridgewerks to TIU vs having Train engineer in between Bridgewerks and TIU, I would anticipate that would see generally lower signal quality and/or more general problems, especially at higher amperage loads. If the intent is to run the engines on analog with the Train Engineer set to Linear then it sounds like should be ok.
  2. Regarding max amperage per TIU port it is 12amps/190watts (24v max). Also please see this section on my DCS Tips page: http://www.rayman4449.com/DCS_Tips.htm#Use_of_TIU_to_provide_signal_to_track:__Normal_vs_Passive_mode (It also covers running TIU in Passive mode) As we have discussed before via email and on the phone I do generally suggest running in Passive mode if possible which does eliminate amperage limits. Just to make sure I understand, it sounds like you had your computer power supply feeding into the Revo Base station which was then providing output power to the TIU and the trains on the layout is this correct? And after you removed the Revo Base station all the problems cleared up is this correct? What is the model number of the Revolution Base Station that you are using? Also to reconfirm, the Computer power supply is AC and not DC? My understanding is the Revo Base Station power supply input is for DC power, not AC. From prior conversations I understood the computer power supply was DC not AC. Also do you remember the MTH tech's name you worked with? (I think it was Don) I want to pass on the updated information to him so he understands what was going on because this will explain it for him which he will want to know for the future if he encounters this again. With this additional information I think I now understand fully what has been going on. Your reply and confirmation is important. Let me know and can go from there. Thanks.
  3. The Christmas (white) theme is now updated along with a new Christmas (Red) theme that has now been added.
  4. Thanks to heads-up from Chuck, the new SD70ACe is confirmed for G scale/One Gauge and two product numbers have been revealed so far: 70-2133-1 George H.W. Bush SD70ACe Diesel Engine w/Proto-Sound 3.0 - Cab No. 4141 70-2134-1 Union Pacific SD70ACe Diesel Engine w/Proto-Sound 3.0 - Cab No. 9096 I'm now taking preorders. $644.95 (Of course through me that includes tear down inspection/testing/modifications and in-house Warranty repair) There will for sure be additional road names that will be produced and announced with the catalog so stay tuned!
  5. Based on how I have seen the switch work on other LGB engines and in other LGB documentation: First position: (Lights=OFF, Smoke=OFF, Motors=OFF) Second position: (Lights=ON, Smoke=ON, Motors=OFF) Third position: (Lights=ON, Smoke=ON, Motors=ON)
  6. It's been so long it's hard to remember but I believe I used a straight piece that was custom bent just a bit. That is another #6 at the top right of the photo. My goal in that entire area was to make all curves and bends through the turnouts as gradual as possible because I planned to run very long trains through them.
  7. 19.5 degree is what I think you are going to want to use. This is the closest I have come to doing what you are talking about with a #6 switch leading into a 19.5 degree crossover. At least this gives some visual representation of the angles.
  8. I highly doubt it. If that many individuals knew about something beforehand it would be leaked out on the forums.
  9. Perhaps someone else has had the same situation and can speak to this directly. I can't speak to the cause but on replacing the harness it would depend on what harness it was and how it is made. I know LGB normally used plugs and harnesses for their main wiring that were different from the other manufacturers so may take some research and additional work to find them. I'm not sure if any existing trainshops carry them as spare parts, I know I dont. The first step is to actually confirm if you have a problem with each wiring harness if that is where you want to start. I would use a volt meter and check for continuity on each wire. if you do have an issue with wiring harness you may be able to repair which is what I would normally do in cases like this.
  10. Glad you guys are enjoying! You will continue to see the website's default theme being updated based on the season on and on-going basis, but they can be changed to whatever you prefer, even back to the standard theme. Dark themes have also been added for those that prefer it and which also saves battery on phones with OLED screens.
  11. I'm not certain if it does or not. I have to note that any time MTH reaches out to me asking for feedback on future production it is something held in confidence and not something I can release. Anything that I know that I can share publicly is something I always do when I can.
  12. I understand that the 2019 One Gauge Catalog may be out in about 6 weeks and will keep everyone posted here when it is released. Update 6/25/19: Download PDF here -> 2019/2020 Catalog
  13. Thank you for sharing this I will definitely be listening to some today
  14. Thinking about this more, I would first start by determining how the chuff is supposed to be triggered... if it is mechanical / magnetic, it could be something has come loose or fallen off that triggers the chuff and would require disassembly to inspect and try and diagnose. I unfortunately don't have a lot of hands-on experience with the LGB steam diagnosing/repairing the factory electronics. When one in sent to me it is to replace and upgrade the electronics to something else.
  15. It's hard to say. The last LGB engine I worked on with the factory sound had a problem with a component on the board causing the sound to cut on and off.
  16. Hi Larry, No new information on delivery yet
  17. Conditions for posting items for sale: Price for each item is REQUIRED in the body of post. If seller does not respond to replies/inquiries on the forum thread after 2 weeks the post will be subject to removal.
  18. The original poster has still yet to reply but the Aristocraft 2-8-8-2 Mallet is 1:29 scale. http://www.rayman4449.com/Aristocraft_Mallet.htm
  19. Please provide selling price and photos if available. Also, I think this is the Aristocraft 2-8-8-2 Mallet. If so we need to update the title heading.
  20. Sure thing I just updated the over the rail clamp photo on the page I linked to.
