I just got off the phone with H & R Trains about their stainless. They said the latest info they got from the mfg. is the end of October. The new owner will be in tomorrow Saturday October 1 after 11am in case anyone wants to get better details. Colin 727-526-4682

Well no I wouldn't. Either very fine sandpaper, a very fine brass wire wheel or just a cleaning agent.

I was figuring that cleaning the surfaces the first time would be a good idea as you would anytime you mate two things together.

Do i need to clean the surfaces that make contact?

The see that the web on the AML track is much thicker than the H&R track. As far as train operation it won't matter. I wonder if bending it will be more difficult.

Split Jaw on AML track. I was taken back a little at the finish on both the track and the clamps. Not in a bad way. I was expecting a polished look.

This is fabulous news. I never saw the American Freedom train back in the day. I shifted my interest into muscle cars at the time. Got married had a daughter and decided it was time to sell my muscle car. Got back into trains with the kids. I have the MTH one gauge version of it and just love to run it. Never thought I could ever see the AFT ride the rails again in my lifetime. I can't wait!!

50 Split Jaws showed up today

I just ordered 50 from eBay to get started. Didn't get shipped until I asked about them. Will probably go direct thru Splitjaw next time.

Stainless track has arrived. Any recommendations on where the best place to get split jaws ?

Thanks for the news about the AML track sale. I was able to secure a significant amount of stainless flex track. I had looked at their track before but it was around $13.50 a square ft. My next step is to select a rail joiner. I'll probably go with Split Jaw in stainless. I had them in brass in a small layout in our yard for a few years with no issues. But, I have to over think and over research it like I always do.
