Dash 8
Thank You.At the moment I'm building this CNW unit for DPU transport. http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Ftrn.trains.com%2F~%2Fmedia%2Fimages%2Frailroad-reference%2Fask-trains%2Fmay-2011%2Ftrn-at0511_06.jpg%253Fh%253D412%2526la%253Den%2526mw%253D600%2526w%253D600&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Ftrn.trains.com%2Frailroads%2Fask-trains%2F2011%2F05%2Fdpu-rear-markers&h=412&w=600&tbnid=LPSR01Dkl017jM%3A&zoom=1&docid=cvH8cjKh8XhMWM&ei=kFZJVJ3NJ8T1OPnvgNgB&tbm=isch&client=firefox-a&iact=rc&uact=3&dur=2101&page=4&start=57&ndsp=19&ved=0CIACEK0DMEgThis is a dummy unit as a helper at the end of the train.I know this is not the right rail company.I know you like modern railway, try it.I build the electronic into the rear truck, which is empty. enginear joe
Well I have that engine already.... I did get a FRED from Ozark, but it seems too big at 1/29.... http://www.ozarkminiatures.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=914 Hmmm, maybe it's not as big as I thought it was? enginear joe
That is great work on that beacon! I'd like to see it at night. How do you think it looks? Realistic? I'm going to try it too. Thank you for sharing. I got that fitting. The inside farrel is shaped a little differently. I'd better try again. Did you cut it into two pieces? Dash 8
Thank you all, In the dark it looks good, the video is too bad, I try it again later. This is a Swagelok fitting VA 10mm, very expensive. The rings are honed flat. The hood is made of glass and red on the inside, with dip paint for light bulbs. For ATSF yellow. The electronik comes with 6 volts. I take a DC / DC converter, 1 amp.The bulbs are replaced with LEDs 5 volts, built-in resistorThe speed is adjustable via potentiometer.Works like the original.I have found a video, not mine.Good Luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPl0dmbGoR4

Dash 8
Small UpdateFor this ( or that ? ) Dummy I built a voltage buffer with 8 Greencaps. The capacity is 5 F, voltage 2.5 volts. The capacitors are low impedance. This is important. The capacitors support the voltage regulator for lighting. The capacitors are in series, maximum voltage 20 volts. That works 18 sec. Without power from the rail.
enginear joe
I just searched for a long time to find these posts from Dash 8. I finally remembered to get a MTH EOT flasher. I knew there was a post on installing it here. Now, I'm reminded that I forgot about the Beacon!! I have too much stuff going on to even remember what I want to do next! I wish I had stayed strictly in G scale. Everything I buy in O scale needs work or attention to run on my 2 rails.
ThomasPr
Thanks-a-mundo for the forum.Really thank you! Much obliged.

enginear joe
I've moved the G scale down to the floor level. I have O scale 2 rail on the bench work. I have since just added a 3 rail Highline in O scale for guests. I didn't know if I should post about other scales???
Rayman4449
Looks good and post away, doesn't matter which scale
Chuck
I agree as it does look good! Nice & smooth. So does that now officially make you a Hi-Railer??
