  1. Looks like there will be a way to get the cars to uncouple with a remote: http://www.remoteuncoupling.com/html/kadee-rc.htm No prices yet. Looks like there will be a starter set offered too.
  2. http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh3/enginear/100_1619-2Small.jpg http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh3/enginear/100_1609Small.jpg
  3. Thank you I'll try it out. I will let you know when it's available.
  4. I find this whole control idea exciting. I'm thinking this may lead to a universal controller. I sure like the idea of computerized RRs. Sometimes I think toy trains got stuck back in WWll. Good to see the technological advancements finally coming to fruition. Maybe an electric scale coupler in O gauge will come too.
  5. I run MTH's DCS system. I have had Digitrax and MRC DCC in the past and still have one, old prodigy kicking around. I just got a USA engine and it has: "QSI / G-Wire installed....Air Wire or NCE G-Wire transmitter " Will this run with a DCC controller? or, Is it waiting for strictly over the air commands?? Haven't powered it up yet. I will probably have it converted to DCS anyways. I would like to see it move first, or hear it, it if it has sound inside.
  6. Thanks Stan, pm sent. Now I just have to decide the colors! Maybe EMD or CSX or......
  7. Future train guys (and gals) there. Now that's as cool as it gets.
  8. I haven't seen them load or unload. I would like to run this around the yard:
  9. Wow, very candid. Thank's for explaining that. Maybe they're adjusting over where they're made. I've heard a lot of plants closed and manufacturers have changed suppliers over there. I really like most of the cars that I've bought from Aristo, USA, and MTH so far. Each has it's flaws. I would prefer to see cars before I buy them.
  10. I had thought about making a mold of it without the grills for duplicates. If MTH makes an ACe then I'm not sure if I'd bother for selling any. I would like multiples so I'm still considering. I may take it to a local plastic shop and see what they could do. I've heard they have huge min quantities. I may just try casting it myself. I'm not sure it would work without a big vacuum chamber?
  11. Has anyone tried to convert the big USA tank cars to tank train type with the connecting hoses? I wonder if USA made them if they would sell? I bought some in O scale by Lionel and love them. It would make a great unit train in G scale. I may try and add some hoses and pipes if I get the nerve. What do you think? wreck their value? or create a unique model?
  12. I like the BNSF diesels with sound and smoke on too! very cool video. Nice train action. Would be cool to get sound in those heritage Units. Looks like good tracks with good looking ballast.
  13. With the way the Bigboys are in demand, I would think they would go for the Allegheny (I wish). I would like to get something in PRR steam next to that request. I would buy the J just to have one, if I had the cash. I wonder if they'll make more BigBoys with PS??
  14. Almost completely scratch (1/32). I've put Aristo and USA parts on it. I can't get some details right. Scratch building fans for example. Truck sideframe in the pic is a USA. It will need shortening if used. The trucks and board will be MTH. http://i252.photobuc...zpsc1be5451.jpg of course, now that I'm building one, MTH may release one. URGGGG
  15. I'm always behind on what's hot. With the closing of Ridge Rd, I don't get to see much without ordering in the dark. I see some AML cars at RLD and wondered how they are? Are the details sturdy and scale? Are the cars weighted correctly? How are the trucks and wheels? I may just pull the trigger on a couple to see how they're built. They look good in the pics. Love the modern stuff!!
  16. Probably not what you want to hear.... but....that's a cute little bugger! I don't have one. How many cars can that pull? Looks like it runs effortlessly. Very nice.
  17. Looks like a great set up. I'll have to learn my way around. Thank you for the opportunity to post and stay informed!
  18. Nice work Ray. Is that an Aristo? I'm looking at alternatives because I never got any. Wonder if they'll be able to make any more?
  19. Yeah, I hate to say that they are priced high. I thought of scratch building a few large cars. The complexity of this car makes me think the price is right! The size makes me think 1/32 is not so bad of an idea after all. ( for us modern equipment nuts....)
  20. I'm seeing how to post my new ACe pics.....
  21. Ray, I believe the reason Ridge road exited so quickly, is for a major illness in the family. They decided it was too hard to continue. I talked with Mr. Lewis Polk about it and even he was shocked.
  22. I'm excited to see the new car from USA. I've read that someone already saw a model at Ro's store. I want to see the detailing myself. I hope it's equal to the rest of their ultimate line. Now, I just can't decide which road to buy!
  23. I saw a picture of a new MTH G gauge catalog in their O gauge one. This is great news for me as I've heard a lot of gossip that they were leaving G scale. I prefer their engines for how solid their trucks are built and the value of having sound, control and smoke built in. The new engines should now come with DCC capability too. That should open up sales to more users. Joe
