Jerry B44
With help from Bob Weltyk I am about done with my diner interior. Did some surgery on the tables and the people to get it to work out. Stock interior the tables/chairs are too close together, but I wanted the tables centered on the windows. So narrowed the tables and the seats, plus made the seats look more like chairs by cutting the sides off, had armrests like in a coach car. Still have some details left. We have some UP diner plates/etc that I took some pictures of and printed them off to use for the table tops. No 1/32nd plates out there. Jerry B44
You can see how Bob did all his Accucraft streamliners, this is the diner work that inspired me. https://youtu.be/BlnZl-zxcII
Chuck
That's great Jerry! I like your printed dinnerware better than those oversized doll house pieces. Maybe some small vases with flowers?? But I have no idea how to come up with those.
rbrown7713
Very good work Jerry. Now I want to know how to make those nice looking dishes and silverware. You are right. No 1:32 dishes and silverware anywhere. Tell us in detail how you did it. Please Bob.
Jerry B44
Bob, we have some UP dinnerware and I set up a table all arranged and took some pictures of it. Picked the best and sized it to fit the tables.(insert in the lower corner of the above pix). Made a page of them. Printed it off, sprayed it with a clear UV spray and cut them out. Leaving a long edge to hang over and give an illusion of a table cloth hanging over the edge. I used double sided tape on the table, then stuck the printed table top to it. I cut some clean tube for glasses and glued them on yesterday and made some kitchen pots and pans from plastic tubing I sprayed silver. Kitchen figures are too tall, may shorten them some. I had re-painted the shell with Trucolor UP yellow, but it still does not match MTH's version. Maybe I used another brand before. Guess I'll live with it, got new lettering on now. I can email you some of the table top pix if you want to use them.
rbrown7713
Well Jerry, you fooled me. I thought they were small replicas of dinnerware, boy, you got me on that one. They sure look good. I am happy that you told me because I was just about to buy a 3d printer. Yes, if you have some extra pics. please send them. Bob.
Jerry B44
Here's a shot of the tables done with some glasses I made from some tubing. I shortened the cooks some also. Here is a detail shot of it put back together.
enginear joe
The couplers on these cars did not match up well with anything I run. The great thing is the dummy coupler boxes are exactly the same mounting as the #1 KD couplers are. So they swap right out easily. Just incase you need to, that is.
