  1. Sure hope you video this running. Nice. Larry
  2. Thanks Jerry. Nothing professional here, just winging it on the fly . I do have a UV filter with extra bulbs for that exact problem. I went through the green water thing already on this darn pond. This pond thing has been a real learning experience. Larry
  3. Hi all. 8-13-2017 up date A little more progress, mostly on wiring the stationary console and the portable one as well The idea is to roll the portable cart up the stationary console and by using 6 banana plugs and one 110 electrical plug have complete control of both the outer and inner loops as well as the accessories and track switches. All 110 electrical components will be plugged in on the inside of the portable cart. They will be protected and turned on and off by a remote power switch. Within the next couple weeks (Based on Honey Do’s) I hope to kick the tires and light a fire under a train. Of course hopefully not a real fire. Here is some pictures again. Larry
  4. Enjoyed watching that, very nice layout to.
  5. Some of these individuals have excellent artistic talent. Be nice If they put it to a better use.???? Just recently I took these pictures of old cars sitting at our closed down repair yard here in East TN. There were several rows as far as you could see of just old painted up boxcars like these. Sad to a lot of us here in this small town that is here mainly due to the Clinchfield Rail Road Days.
  6. Hi all Here I am again Well I stripped the pond and started over, not once but twice. (Good Grief) I have bought and moved so many rocks but, I now have a nice small pond that is Eco friendly . Fish, snails and plants. I actually have got into the pond stuff. I have run out of several different important items. I keep ordering and that costs me time. My poor planning is obvious to me at this point. The good thing is good old honey do’s fill in the down time. I’m sure some of you know what I mean . Picked up another ton and a half of crushed rock for standby fill in for leveling when needed. I have installed over 200 split jaw clamps and just ordered another 100. They do go fast. Been so hot I moved most of the work into shade. Been testing all the switches and cutting special fit pieces of track. I'm learning DC and the LGB switch and on/off boxes. I have started some work on a stationary control panel and a portable panel as well. More on that later. I know the portable one picture looks like a total mess currently but it will get organized eventually. Eventually the Transformers , TIU and other expensive items will be on this. That's for protection from weather. Here are the most recent picture I took. Have a great weekend all. Still alive and having fun. Larry PS and playing with the Triplex 2 8 8 8 2 with parts Ray sent me.
  7. I agree, good job. Perfect fit with BB. Larry
  8. Looks good Jerry Your railroad also looks very well landscaped. Larry
  9. Let's try four articulated's up front and the triplex in the back? That should equal out. That's a real stump puller. Larry
  10. Yes Joe it is. Couldn't help going for it. He told me how well you said yours run. Larry
  11. RailKing One Gauge 2-8-8-8-2 Triplex Steam Engine w/Proto-Sound 2.0 Joe you know this one. Never run on display only. You have the Erie Be going to pick it up tomorrow. Larry
  12. Yes Jerry, I understand. When I get hard charging into a project mine look like grenades were flipped in the buildings.
  13. Ha, Jerry 4 years of the Marine Corp will do that to ya.
  14. Nice Joe, I'm getting ready to experiment with a few pond plants. Hopefully I'll get one to live. Larry
  15. Hi all I haven’t quit on the Train in the yard project! Actually hard at it when time permits. These pictures are to give you a idea of how the project will be viewed as well as progress. 11 year old grandson visit and he about wore us out. Dolly wood, traveling, Alabama tough on an old guy. Lol, Had a good time, good memories. On to ROCK spreading and wiring. Here are some progress pictures. I’m out of rock and will need some more Not much, thank God. Oh, due to the fish nut grandson I now have gold fish and Koi. That was not in the plan. The small pond is now tented to protect the fishes from UV and high pond temperatures???? Go figure. Now on to track, soldering and work on the main control console that will be on the deck. This will be slow , long time consuming tasks. But I love it compared to rock and digging . The main console will be mostly portable but some of it will be permanent. Somewhat of a fun challenge the way I have it planned. We will see.lol Wishing all a very Happy 4th of July weekend Larry
  16. Joe Good point on the screen outside. I played with it and I think because I'm under cover to some degree it will work. I did get the remote with the TIU and the last York so I do have it. Another learning curve for me when I get that far. Hopefully track is very very close to going down. Tired of shoveling that rock. Larry
  17. Thanks for the information Joe and Jerry. I do have cameras in the train room that view the outside layout. That may be the way I go. I just don't know if the DCS remote or WiFi iPad will work with me inside and watching the train on a monitor and the train outside. I need to do some experimenting when I get to that. should be interesting Larry
  18. Joe That is a nice job. I hope to copy something very similar as a phase two of my train in the yard project. Knowing you run DCS, and if you even had this issue, how did you control the issue with being able to see the train outside entering the storage room door and at the same time being able to see the train come inside the storage room in order to stop it. The reason I ask is that is the type of problem I have. Thanks Larry
  19. Wow! John that is a class act layout. I will also take a moment to congratulate you and your group for all their community efforts. Very well done. Larry
  20. I certainly understand the Grandson issue Larry
  21. Joe Did you ever sell your Clinchfield PS2 Challenger? I read a old thread you might have one and was going to maybe sell it. I figured I would at least ask you about it since it was Clinchfield.. Larry
  22. Chuck Enjoyed the videos. Nice project you have going as well. Larry
