  1. Man, that is a huge project you have laid out for yourself. Keep your nose to the grindstone!
  2. No, but I tracked the guy down and sent the info to my friend who is interested. It comes with the trucks and drives, so that helps a lot.
  3. Anyone see that notice about a DD 40 X kit? BUddy of mine is interested, but I can't seem to find it now. Not sure if it was on here, MLS or a Facebook forum. $500 down and a grand on delivery in 6 months.
  4. Nice work Nick, better than the ones I am putting on now! Keep up the good work.
  5. Yeah, I have three, first was a Shay I made, then got the Mikado when they came out, it runs real well. Old buddy was getting out of the hobby and I got a good deal on an Accucraft Mogul that had been heavily modified and runs great also. the steam is fun, but takes some work to get all the stuff out to get going. So I don't do it too often. You running on your layout yet?
  6. Had a good run with my Aristo live steam Mikado. Good plumes. Nice cool day with no wind. It does have a Summerlands chuffer, hence the good sound, it is real sound, not a recording. Well, guess it does not show the sound for some reason, oh well... https://youtu.be/pCZQa2r_d14
  7. Ah, American ingenuity, or a Redneck genius? You sure do think out of the box Bob, and it pays off.
  8. We've been corresponding. I think his thin plastic is a good idea.
  9. Good fit there Nick! Shows amazing skill.
  10. Got up early to drive an hour north to Salina to see 4014. Great steam plumes on a cool/damp morning. Thrilling experience. Looking a little dirty!
  11. Quite a setup you have there. Looks good.
  12. Sure is looking great. Nice detail and finish.
  13. Will be cold on Veteran's Day so I ran my Military Train on our last warm day. Cars reflect my time in the military and national guard. The black gun jeep and gun truck were in my convoys in Vietnam, I was in the gun jeep. The tank is for my time in the Nebraska National Guard.
  14. Bob made some of the trailer shells, I think. You are working hard there old guy!
  15. Stuff blows all over it seems. Does look nice though. Gets under the track also. I gave up on using it on the track on top of the blocks. Glueing can be a problem due to expansion of the track/ties.
  16. I hope they don't do UP 844, I'd have to buy it! Probably could use some of the Big Boy tooling, since many parts are the same.
  17. I used them on a build and they work great.
